Gordon Smart on Sun Talk

As Moyles pointed out, Gaunt is a guy who got fired from his national show (on a station full of racists and homophobes, no less) for essentially being an idiot. Now he's reduced to producing a podcast for a newspaper that'll touch barely a 100th of Chris' audience. And everyone hates him. Moyles isn't the only guy who takes pops at him; The Collings and Herrin Podcast made it a weekly feature to rip him apart, I believe Iain Lee may have taken shots, and even George Galloway doesn't like him and showed him to be a wuss when Gaunt wouldn't take Galloway up on a debate challenge. When George Galloway can think low of you and not come off bad because of it, your worth to this country is practically null.

We are being tormented by 'Gordons'! What is it with these people named Gordon? Perhaps someone ought to set up a campaign to have the name abolished? Let's get The Sun onto the case? Might make life a little easier for everyone.

Just a thought.

Bye bye Brown, Smart, Ramsey...

PS Think Chris Moyles was incredibly restrained not to play Jilted John's Gordon is a Moron this morning.

PPS Sorry if you are a perfectly pleasant person called Gordon and you aren't a moron, I just noticed a trend...

"It was an interesting denial, 'we have no plans'"

Well that's interesting in that it is denying your story. Of course Chris will leave at some point. He won't be there forever.

Tomorrow he might as well print BRITNEY GOING TO DIE, because she will at some point.

"no-one wants to start a war with a fat tub of lard"

Then don't call him that you prick. Geeze it's no wonder you're only on an Internet radio station, calling people Nazis goes down REALLY well on the Radio, doesn't it?!

Also, the thing about banter? Fuck off, that's not banter. Printing that in the paper as it appeared online, factually incorrect and it's just pure vile.

"He shouldn't get his gun out and start shooting at me"

Says the one who started attacking the team, questioning the credentials of Aled as a producer and presenter. And Chris was the one with the calm and collected response this morning.

Gordon Smart being interviewed by The Sun is a highly fair and balanced interview.

This interview is something that pretty much every element can be deconstructed as hypocritical or incorrect.

I've just read that Jon Gaunt interview and I have to laugh... he thinks he's the best presenter in the country and likes American radio such as Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh. Funny, because the two are polar opposites and Gaunt is absolutely nothing like Stern at all because for all the gay jokes and interviews with retards (no, really, one of the Wack Packers calls himself 'Gary The Retard'), Stern is also a supporter of gay rights, mixed-race relations and not calling people nazis. Gaunt is definitely the UK version of Limbaugh, who is successful (unlike Gaunt) and a right-winger with stupid opinions (like Gaunt).

Listening to Richard Herring and Andrew Collins reading extracts from Jon Gaunt's autobiography. They're laughing hysterically at it; it really is so bad.

    • I guess we'll have to wait and see when the new schedule kicks in, although I could see Scott staying where he is.  Assuming that's the case and there are no other moves, there would be several available studios for Matt & Mollie - 82C or 82E of the 'old' studios, and 82M or 82N of the new ones.
    • The BBC commissioning brief mentions it is a 'mid morning show' for Radio 1 Dance https://www.bbc.co.uk/commissioning/radio/documents/comm_brief_r1_dance_morning_show.pdf
    • Nothing to apologise about, I was just intrigued on how DS and UM react
    • I would be pretty confident that if they keep avoiding using James Cusack on that slot over the next few weeks, then it will probably be him that gets the show permanently!
    • That’s two names who probably won’t be doing that slot permanently then.
    • Moyles spent most of the 52hr sgow calling him that lol
    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
    • Maia Beth is doing Friday Early Breakfast on 7th & 14th June.
    • Joel Mitchell is in for Nat on Sunday 9th June.
    • Ore Olukoga is on 13.00-16.00 on Friday 31st May and Friday 7th June.  Nikita Kanda is doing Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.
    • Very pleased for producer Amy - it's no coincidence many of the best shows in recent years have had her working on them. You can tell her & Helena are a great production duo and that the whole Matt & Mollie team are a really close-knit unit in general. Some lovely speeches by both Matt & Mollie too to end the show on Sunday.
    • Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots. A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1. Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
    • James Cusack is in for Jack on Friday 14th June, doing the chart while Jack is at Download.
