Greg James in for Scott Mills

It's great that he's brought his material over to the show. I agree that perhaps 'Flash Flash' doesn't have such appeal on afternoons, I think it's because there's no callers like with early breakfast. I think it has some appeal though, maybe it'll grow on you.

The only criticism I'd have is that it would be nice to hear a bit more of Greg's voice, but then again I feel the same way about Scott and his show.

So far, both of them are doing great jobs.

The Wonder Years sounds really dated, if you listen week on week the same songs crop up. I did, however, enjoy hearing Oasis and B*Witched tonight.

Greg's been good this week. My only slight dislike is that he repeats himself a bit too much, almost to pad for time. He mentioned himself and Judge Jules were going to Mallorca consecutively three times earlier. I know information needs repeating but even goldfish won't forget that soon!

Looking forward to more next week though :)

Still haven't heared Max is it a man or woman?

This is the best Wonder Years ever! :D

Sorry Scott

Max is a woman off of 1xtra.

And i agree, great Wonder Years

Im not so sure about the floor fillers though...

1) Not the best song choices i thought

2) I thought gregs timing, with both, song mix's and ID's were not too great

3) I didnt get the same partyish, friday night atmosphere as i normally do with scott.

Overall, im quite enjoying Greg

Greg is fast approaching becoming my fave radio 1 dj. May need to change my name?

He's done Scott's slot proud. Permanent cover i hope!

You want him to take Scott's slot permanently? Or just whenever Scott's off? I hope it's the latter ;)

I think he's done a very good job and he's shown he can handle such an important slot well. So having more of him at daytime would be nice.

When is Chopper getting time off.... He seems to be on pretty much every day at the moment. On the schedule it is just down as "Chappers" so I hope that they just let him do his own thing!!

It says 'Scott Mills Gold with Chappers' in listing guides.

I really really enjoyed Greg this week. If it were up to me I'd give him The Chart Show and a regualr Saturday slot, forget the request show! He is very funny, on his own, which is a hard thing to do. I don't think Scott's show would be as good without Chappers, same for Moyles without Dave or Dom. He has a bright future and of R1 do a JK and Joel and waste him on early brekafast for the next three years I'll go and chain myself to the building!

I wouldn't worry about that. I think they appreciate that he's a very good DJ, otherwise they wouldn't have given him Scott's show! I know there weren't too many DJ available as they were all doing covers but they could have moved some of them around considering how important Scott's slot is. I'm glad they didn't though, I think he has a future.

    • I would be pretty confident that if they keep avoiding using James Cusack on that slot over the next few weeks, then it will probably be him that gets the show permanently!
    • That’s two names who probably won’t be doing that slot permanently then.
    • Moyles spent most of the 52hr sgow calling him that lol
    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
    • Maia Beth is doing Friday Early Breakfast on 7th & 14th June.
    • Joel Mitchell is in for Nat on Sunday 9th June.
    • Ore Olukoga is on 13.00-16.00 on Friday 31st May and Friday 7th June.  Nikita Kanda is doing Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.
    • Very pleased for producer Amy - it's no coincidence many of the best shows in recent years have had her working on them. You can tell her & Helena are a great production duo and that the whole Matt & Mollie team are a really close-knit unit in general. Some lovely speeches by both Matt & Mollie too to end the show on Sunday.
    • Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots. A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1. Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
    • James Cusack is in for Jack on Friday 14th June, doing the chart while Jack is at Download.
    • I remember hearing Amy first on Scotts show and she was great on that, the daft quiz questions always made me smile. It's really nice to see the hard work has paid off for them all.
    • Actually the worst tends to be those who comment on Radio Today news stories. People who haven’t listened to younger oriented radio stations in years who say things like “who?” about any job going to any presenter aged younger than 50.
    • Ahhh very happy for Amy - that’s very well deserved! I didn’t hear their final show but are Matt and Mollie keeping Helena? Hopefully she might be the main producer of their new show!
