Just to let you know Scott's nominated for the Entertainment Award at the Sony's. He's up against Radio 2’s Russell Brand, Key 103’s Toolan in the Morning, Capital 95.8’s Johnny Vaughan and Trent FM’s Jo & Twiggy Breakfast Show.

As for breakfast award categories it seems Moyles is a sure cert this year -

Zane Lowe scooped up three nominations - for The Music Programme Award, The Specialist Music Programme Award and The Music Radio Personality of the Year.

The awards will be held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Monday 12 May.

Radio Clyde's Bowie at Breakfast is quite possibly one of the worst radio shows that has graced my ears.

I think Scott's category is much tougher than Chris'. Russell Brand is very good and he has a huge podcast following.

Scott's had an up and down year this year. It lacked something towards the end, but I don't really know when it begins and ends.

I'm never quite sure how these things are gonna go. I know the shows have to submit their best bits to the judges, but I suspect what they submit is sometimes quite different to what I would consider the best bits. This is based on best of shows and podcasts for both Scott and Chris - they often include features which I find less funny than the random banter, which sometimes doesn't get included. It's also hard to know what the Sony judges consider to be good radio. I'm a big fan of Russell Brand's radio show, but I don't know if it's the sort of thing that's likely to win at the Sony's because of the style of it.

I think it will be close between Scott and toolan. That show won bronze breakfast show last year but I think Scott will win.

More worryingly is that they've nominated Kelly Osbourne for "rising star" -

Go on Scott! Russell Brand is really the only competition there, if that award was voted for by the public I would be slightly uncertain of Scott winning.

I really hope Zane wins a few awards too, he's improved so much, love his shows now.

i think it will be close & russell is in with a very good chance & i would go for scott, but recently the show hasn't been as good as normal so im ever-so slightly going for russell

I doubt recent dips in the shop count for anything. All that matters really is what they send on that tape. Russell hasn't been nominated before though so judges might find it unique compared to what they normally here.
