Or until he is injured again...

Also, I wonder how long Man Sh*tty's luck will last?

Shame I didn't put a tenner on City today, had a feeling they would win today. Man Utd played well just didnt seem to be able to score....again. To be honest I think City will do really well this season, they have a good manager, fair enough he wasn't the right man for England, but his club career is very good. Also he has spent very well, Elan has been great in every game so far, and Geovanni has played well also. They have a fairly strong back four as well.

All that said, think Arsenal will beat them next week, although they couldnt beat Blackburn today.

As for United, we just cant score, when have united ever gone 3 games and only scored 1 goal in the premiership, think the record books will show that this is incredably rare, if it has happened at all. Back on home soil against Spurs next Sunday with a point to prove, think we will bang a few in.

Where would we be if we did'ht have rules....?

We need an out and out striker, Rooney and Tevez are both players that play off thefront, they are not gonna put in all the little tap ins, thats where we have missed Ruud Van Nistelrooy, and you cant rely on Saha he's never fit, if he was fit, problem solved.

The Sun says today that Fergie has said that we are gonna face an uphill struggle for the title, fair enough we have had a poor start, but we have been playing well, just need to start putting the ball in the back of the net, as soon as that happens there will be a massive difference, the goals will flood in as the confidence comes back. Once our new signings get up to speed as well we will have even more creativity. Its an obvious blow that we have lost Rooney so early, but he will come back on better form than ever!!

The tevez headed miss at the end of the game must go down as one of the comedy moments of the season. The words cows arse & banjo spring to mind. Liverpool were denied a win by an utter james blunt of a referee who would be out of his depth in a childrens five a side game. If that was a penalty then i'm a giraffe called gerald diving MF.

John you also get the play the mighty *coughs* Carlisle Utd on Saturday, 03 November 2007 I'd bring an umbrella as its probably be pouring down. Hopefully we'll have a new manager by then but who knows

they should get lee hughes and his former football club and bury them all in cement. scum. the city game was mad yesterday, the look on the thingys face when he thought tevez scored and then he found out that he didn't was brilliant. styles needs shooting, there are no excuses for what he did.

and now darren bent is out of the friendly as well, so i would start defoe and crouch against germany, with smith in support. and maybe sub owen on later depending on how things are. also gerrard didn't look in any agony yesterday, i understand him being out against germany. but i have the feeling that rafa will try to get him to miss some of the qualifiers as well, he is spanish and gerrard is going to try and play for england when he is fit afterall.

i found it funny last night before the match when wright said michael owen didn't mention him as a legend in the interview becuase "i am a brother ain't i!"

i still think we will be ok to qualify, it's just the press being doom and gloom again. i am just glad that we didn't get shafted in the same way like we hammered them 6 years ago.

owen was stopped by a good save the first time but he should of buried that one when he got past the keeper. it was harder to miss, when he gets a few games into his system he will smash those chances home. i do forget how long he has been out to be honest, so thats why i cant understand man u fans calling for saha to come back and get some goals for them, becuase right now if he comes back he wont be sharp. i thought richards, joe cole and wright phillips were impressive, i dont see the point in dyer anymore. and i know david james can be dodgy but that was unreal from robinson, it's like he handed it to him to score.

you can see how we missed gerrard last night though.

Another great day for Southend, a nice 4-1 hammeing from Leeds.... Wasnt doing too bad until 10 minutes from the end, was 1-1 then we just crumbled.

The last time we had a comfortable win like that was when we played and beat QPR 6-1 a few years back. Super Brian Deane with 4 Goals!

We've Notts Forest tomorrow. 1pm kick off. Hopefully reduce our deficit to -6 points. Its harsh when we should technically be top right now.

Oh yeah!

Its the way it is. Derby V Forest obviously and Derby V Leeds because of all the history between us.

Oh and because you beat us 5-1 at PPS on my birthday :*

Two words... Seth Johnson, we bought him from you, he was crap, so we gave him you back!

apparently mark viduka used his knob to control the ball, before he scored. 2-2, we should of put more chances away but it's better than last season where we would of lost 5-0 so i'll take it. owen needs more time on the pitch next time in my opinion, and ramage sounds like he has had a nasty injury.

    • I don't feel there's so much overlap between M&M and Scott's shows. M&M is of a similar calibre to Scott & Chris on R1, with genuine laugh out loud moments and usually a show packed full of real interesting content. Scott's R2 show is IMO a shadow of the stuff he did on R1 (not his fault, he's doing exactly what station management want), with music and content to appeal to a much older audience.
    • To be fair, Scott & Chris would've still been fine on Radio 1. It was mentioned at the time that Scott's move was very much on Radio 2's part rather than Radio 1 wanting to move them on. That's the one problem that Radio 2 has, trying to appeal to such a wide demographic.. it's the perfect listen for many, but equally a turn off for many others. I think they have the balance fairly right.
    • I agree Scott has always been a good standalone presenter, but always better when with someone. When chappers left the radio one show it felt a different show and Chris joining was what it needed and brought new life. for the format of the radio 2 show Scott’s show fits well with the station but again, there’s the huge gap between radio1 and 2 As been said already old radio2 listeners feel it now feels too young with latest changes, yet old radio1 listeners still feel radio 2 feels too old. The inbetween stage demographic of too old for radio 1 but too young for radio 2 is still not catered for radio 2 was left to grow old with its audience for too long and to change things up now feels to try and change a brand image the right thing to do is leave it as it is and cater for that 1.5 demographic which I’m sure the new proposed 00s and 10s station will do if approved. Problem is it’s so overdue that by the time it gets off the ground these listeners are already likely to be lost and the changing image of radio2 likely to lose what it stands for as a brand with the “it’s too young now “  moving to boom and the “ it still sounds old “ crowd not able to move with their favourite presenters like Scott so finding themself on capital a radio 1.5 would have been perfect for Scott and Chris, seems unlikely but this is why I think who branding of bbc radio needs a rethink if these new stations get off ground
    • Bank Holiday Monday Schedule 6am-10am: Arielle Free in for Greg 10am-2pm: Dean & Vicky (No Rickie, Melvin & Charlie) 2pm-6pm: Vick & Jamie (No Katie) 6pm onwards: As normal.
    • Dare I say they've sounded great this past week?  Very much gelling.  Maybe less pressure?  Seem to be having a genuinely good time and not forcing things.
    • I'm in the minority in my workplace, most of them love country music.  Me, the American, does not care for it.  That said, I haven't haaaaaated some of the country adjacent stuff that's been on the R1 playlist.
    • The Eurovision semi finals are on from 8 to 10pm on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th May with Richie Anderson. That means Sara Cox in on till 8 on those days.  Saturday 11th May is Eurovision 'Super Saturday... 1-3pm Your Ultimate Abba song with Gary Davies  3-6pm Michelle Visage's Eurovision All Stars 6-8pm Eurovision Request Party with Owain Wynn Evans 8pm Eurovision Grand Final with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark
    • It is funny because everyone thought Matt was on the way out, now he's been described as the heir to Mills.
    • Some similar names to Big Weekend.  Sabrina Carpenter, David Guetta, Perrie, Bradley Simpson, Jax Jones, Caity Baser, Benson Boone, Rudimental. David Guetta is a good name.
    • Still Scott for me. I'm not too much into the 70s and 80s radio 2 play but do love the injection of 90s and 00s. Then Radio 2 push for all this country stuff and it not a UK thing, and I frankly don't like it. Scott's show as in features, hit and miss. I like the music police bit, but it feels like someone needs to join him. It's a shame Chappers is so busy with sports, as it feels like it could do with someone like him jumping on to help. Or a new partner. Radio 1, take or leave. Matt and Mollie are OK from what I've heard and share a good connection, but it's the playlist that throws me off. They could bring back Chris Moyles to do that show, but as soon as something like Headie One comes on with that casino keyboard produced crap. It would still be switched off from me.
    • Reading through this thread, I don't feel quite so alone now, in thinking that Scott Mills on R2 is not a good 'fit' (even less so than on R5).  I can't quite explain why this is so - I just know it to be so.
    • Arielle has been on holiday for the last 2 weeks getting married / honeymoon.  It'll be live from this week onwards.
    • CassKidd is in for Sian on Sunday 5th May.
    • The brought to tiers feature was also very good from them. I did wonder which DJ's were going to get picked out of the hat, that could have gone one way or the other and the caller said they were very opinionated lol. Correct decision putting katie in god tier!
    • The extended Dua Lipa track from M&M was very funny. I'm hoping Matt and Mollie and Scott have a good relationship a bit like Greg and Zoe collaborate on-air sometimes.
