Radio 1's Small Weekend 2007

I envisage a new festival, a big festival with a small heart. Oh yes, I've had a few late nights but I've come up with this ameezin' idea. Radio 1 may be targeting new listeners with their 'big weekend' but I propose a 'small weekend' just for the oldies. The die hards. The creme de la creme!

We rope in a few old DJs - Wes for instance, may be even Spoony - let's face it they're not doing much. And a few bands too. Sugababes and McFly spring to mind, they always do a Radio 1 event, it's what keeps them going.

Best of all, we've got an old music tent. In old music, indeed we trust! A good mix of 70s, eighdees, and 90s. Headliners include Chaz 'n' Dave and at night we'll have a mobile disco coming from some of the top disco DJs in the area.

We've even come up with this idea 'cold violet saint' which we graffiti on people's cars, on post boxes, and attach to bricks and throw through windows. All for great publicity for this event.

And best of all we let the ticket touts sell the tickets. That way we ensure those with the money, and are actual die hards, pay the money to go. We need to cut some slack for those ticket touts - they work all year round to try and ensure we get those tickets at a great price, and Radio 1 go and wreck their work. We say no to this conventional idea, let them sell them!

Remember Radio 1's Small Weekend, it's coming, but hush, unlike other Radio 1 events we're going to keep it toned down!!

So... are you ready?!

I hope Mr Blobby and Bob the Builder will be appearing.

I suggest the event is held in a pair of tents each shaped like the old White City Stadium and pitched in the grounds of BBC White City. This will allow presenters to walk there from Yalding House each morning following blue arrows held upside down by disaffected locals on minimum wage.

UM is a nice place

I think a Camp Radio 1 Weekend would be more than appropriate!

Sure there are no end of people who'd jump at the chance to start this one off!

Campsite arrangements very important!

It's theme could be CMF maybe? Chilly Mauve Fairy. You like?
