Richie Anderson is also in for Dermot next week! Don’t think he’s covered that show before - hasn’t he just done Holiday specials and covered for Rylan?

Richie’s never cover for Rylan. One of his holiday specials aired during Rylan’s slot if that’s what you mean?

Richie has also covered Sara Cox

The only cover he's done was for Sara Cox on drive when she was I'll (the day before Steve Wright stayed on till 6, and Adele Roberts who was sitting in for Jo started at 6). He once stepped in very last minute for Zoë Ball until Ken tool over at 08:30.

His most recent show was on Christmas Eve, in Rylan's timeslot, but he's never officially covered Rylan (which surprises me to be fair).

He and Ken have done that Zoe thing twice.

Richie Anderson is in for Scott Mills on Tuesday 9th and Thursday 11th May. The show will be coming from Liverpool all week (BBC Radio Merseyside's studios I'd assume).

He's also in for Scott on Monday 1st, 8th and 29th May (all bank holidays).

Steve Wright is on 4-7pm on both bank holiday's (Monday 1st and 8th May).

Gaby Roslin is covering the 12-2pm slot on Monday 1st May with 'Songs that bring you joy'.

Apparently Gary Davies is in for Zoe for 3 weeks from that date. He’ll have been on weekdays for 13 consecutive weeks by the end of that having done the mid-morning show up until that point too.

Yes. He mentioned it the day Vernon's start day was announced. He also said he will still be the stand in on mid mornings. So the likelihood is that he'll probably do that and share breakfast cover with Nicki Chapman. Zoe's filming a new show for ITV.

    • I think Ellie has definitely proven to be been a great fit.  The story of her finding a flat and Roger the cat was a real ice breaker for the feel of the show as a whole I think.  Add to that Scott giving Ellie his ticket to the Brits and the stories that came from it, I really think she adds value. Not only is the rapport between her and Scott already brilliant, but she also comes across as a funny, down to earth presenter in her own right.  I think she's fab and will only continue to get better as the show progresses. I would initially have agreed with the thought that she could be a co-presenter, and I suppose her prominence in the show is such that she could be seen as that, seemlessly.  However, for me the show is a bit too guest-heavy for a co-presenter.  That's probably just the nature of having such a high-profile show, I think it might feel like too many voices to try to get a fairly short (and sincere) interview in with a huge star. Back in the days of R1 when they could play fun games with the guests then yes, but I get the impression that Scott needs to go for serious and genuine with most of the ones he has had so far. I mostly prefer the bits of radio without guests - that goes for all radio shows, not just Scott's.  The 6.30-8am where it's just Scott, Ellie, and Tina, are my favourite bits of the show for sure.  Which is a long winded way of me saying that Ellie was a great choice 😄
    • @Opalmoon I couldn't agree with you more. Scott and Chris made genuine magic happen on the radio and I'm starting to think that nothing will ever equal that era.  I often listen back to the old podcasts, and I think you've hit the nail on the head when you say they were effortlessly funny together.  They could make the most simple of things laugh-out-loud funny, and it must have been because they were real friends who just used to make each other laugh, which in turn made brilliant radio.   They have both gone on to do such big things apart, probably more than if they had carried on together at Radio 1, and I'm really pleased for them both.  I don't think you're stuck in the mud (if you are then I am too) - a Scott and Chris podcast would be a dream come true. I'm not sure it could even be a thing while they are both working at different stations, but I hope they can make it work one day.  With Beccy producing, that would be the icing on the cake!   I would love for Scott to be a guest on Chris & Tom Kerridge's podcast, if nothing else.   Who knows, maybe one day Chris will find himself back at the BBC on 5Live and we'd have more chance of having them back working together then.
    • Lauren in for Danni on 28th and 29th March.
