i was wondering what are the legal implications on forum/website Admin/Mods intercepting members PM's ?

but those are for France & the USA, i understand that if it says in the site rules when you join that PM's may be intercepted that as you have agreed to the rules it is ok (if it within the law anyway), the only UK laws i can find that may relate to this issue are;

Well admins can not view PMs on VBulletin without installing a hack anyway.

Unless something has already happened I wouldn't worry, just keep forum PMs for normal stuff any other information use emails.

It should mention it in the thing you mention when you sign up on the forum that they can see anything in the DB. Unlike passwords, private messages are not encrypted, sooo...

You know, Chris Harris spoke about this on moyles.net. I think he said deleted messages can still be seen for several days, so if you're planning anything illegal, don't do it via PM.
