I have a choice of staying in either Leeds or Manchester and going for the day at the moment, is 2 hours from Nottingham and similar or maybe slightly less from Leeds. Don't know about staying the night yet but it'd be good to meet some geeks for the day.

I'm assuming you'll need to go to Manchester Piccadilly, I'm not sure if there are any other stations in the centre of Manchester. And I think Emma suggested that we meet by the big wheel outside Selfridges if I remember correctly.

I wanted to take advantage of cheap tickets, now I know that I'm definitely gonna day trip it from London. No one had decided on a time to meet so I thought I'd get there just before 1pm since it seems a civilised enough time.

The bar on the first floor of the station is really easy to find. You walk into the station away from the train tracks and its above you on the left. Otherwise there's the coffee shop on the first floor on the right.

There's two other stations in Manchester centre: Oxford Road & Victoria.

Well, workload or no workload I'm determined to go to this as I've been wanting to meet you all for ages, so I'm 95% sure I'm coming. I think a lot of you already have my current number, although if anyone wants it then they can PM me or talk to me on MSN.

Is the bar nearer the platforms or the street entrance? If i come i'll have to walk from platforms 13/14 which are out the back of the station, As will other people if anyone elses train doesn't terminate at Picadilly (goes onto Preston or Manchester Airport for example). I know theres some escalators there and toilets, and a coffee shop too if i'm not mistaken at that end of the station?

Here's a map of the station, so you know what i mean :)

    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • But a win for Scott which is fantastic!
    • Overall awards reflect a lot of momentum in commercial radio. A side note but didn't they once stream this?
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
    • I heard something about what is your favourite wood? Wtf 😂
    • Was the same vibe on the Easter Monday show they did too. Just random questions and the like…. Katie is definitely the glue around making the show listenable.
