since the update, the site has a shorter auto time out i was wondering if the amount of time could be extended as i often have a lot of tabs open & when i click back on the UM tab it has logged me out because i haven't posted in the set time, therefore i have to log back in again & again throughout the night.

Have you clicked the 'remember me' tab? I can't say I've been logged out.

I've never been logged out (which is a good thing because I don't know my password ((well I could just open firefoxs' password manager to see it but that takes effort)))

i have now clicked the remember me box, i will let you know how i get on.

i have not ticked before & as i said its only started since the update.

I've had exactly the same thing, I'll be talking on the shoutbox, leave it a minute, come back and its signed me out. Ill try the "remember me" thing too, I've already got it remembering my password

Interesting - I've been running three lots of Firefox on XP and Vista but I've not been logged out yet. Just make sure you're remembering yourself as that doesn't automatically tick itself any more like the old version did.

anyway yeah I'm fine, I'm always logged in cos of the remember me box. But the auto log out time has drastically decreased, When I use a shared PC (and obviously not save my details) it logs out after about 60 seconds or so, thus driving me insane...

well i have ticked the box & it seems ok now, but if you don't tick the box it will log you out if you don't post for i dunno how long it is, but it does do it.
