Something strange happened to the votes on Strictly this evening. Not sure exactly what, but all of the 3 semi-finalists stayed in, as opposed to 1 being voted off, and the votes made last night will be carried over to next week. Then we were treated to 10 minutes of BBC trailers. I'm sure the Daily Mail will be on the case already...

Just off to post about the X Factor. Oooooh. Telly overdose this evening.

A statement issued following Saturday's live show said: "Due to the unprecedented outcome of the judges' vote... the audience vote could not have saved one of our couples from the dance off.

"We took the decision that all the votes cast tonight should stand and be carried through to next week's final.

"So the audience has had the usual chance to vote on the performances of all our semi-finalists. All the votes cast tonight will be rolled over. Tonight's vote has been independently verified."
