Google have released a beta of their new browser! I gotta say I like it a lot more than Firefox. It works a hell of a lot faster anyway and the actual web page takes up more of the screen A lot of sites don't work for me on it at the moment but if you use it in incognito mode everything seems to work perfectly :confused:

For an excellent semi-technical description of what Google are trying to do with Chrome, have a look at the following 'comic' that was recently distributed by email (before the beta was released). I hear they've put a slightly shorter version on the Google site too.

Interesting stuff, but as it's in early beta not really recommended as your main browser yet as so much of the additional web content we know and love that is displayed by plugins in your browser won't work correctly, if at all...

I think I'll wait. They didn't sell it from me when I saw the BBC News report on it. It sounded a bit too much like Firefox for me to make the effort.

i would have it. but my computer is full to the brim and i need to spend a couple of days sorting everything out, burning it onto data disc. and then doing a complete re-install of vista, after that i'll probably have a look.

i have it & it seems ok, it is lightweight & is quite quick, but it is nowhere as good as FF3.

firefox is the best by far, but firefox have advised google with chrome & they will continue to work together both have said, i think google wanted to get a browser out there but they are really backing firefox as it is the only browser that has a chance to topple IE

basically, I don't like it. I may post the reasons why I don't from another forum where I've already discussed it. but basically I don't like the way it feels, the increase in speed isn't much more than Firefox really, and I do miss the add ons I have with Firefox, although if Google do introduce them, I still won't be swayed.

It's a nice try, but it can't beat Firefox. Internet explorer on the other hand...

On the subject of browsers, i tried IE8, roobish, looks worse than 7 and just is overall crappy
