Looking forward to....?

I'm sick of people being really pessimistic and saying how depressing January is just because Christmas is over and there is 'nothing to look forward to'

I'm glad to be getting back into a sort of relaxed routine. Surely there are things to look forward to for you guys?

Gigs?? Holidays?? Summer?? New Places?? Parties??

What are you looking forward to?

it's just well crap, it's the dark nights that do my head in. even in march and april it still may be crap, and thats still ages away!

i'm going to birmingham tommorow which i always enjoy, so if you want me to be hippie and look forward, there is that.

on the grid.

Simple answer - the rest of this year! Many changes for me over the latter part of last year, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they all pan out... And now the nights are slowly getting shorter again (I've noticed already), what's not to like or look forward to?

Erm... got a couple of gigs planned for this year. Probably going to go on some kind of holiday with one of my friends, maybe more, at Easter maybe and definitely in the summer.

I'm looking forward to choosing a new house to live in with new people in a quieter and less crampt area. I'm going home next week as well which should be nice for a break.

Going back to uni, panto, going to the pub, finally handing in all my essays and getting rid of them, being able to write stuff that isn't essays, reading books I don't have to, people visiting me finally, shiny new album from The Holloways.

Seeing one of my best friends in about 12 hours after far too many weeks apart. Soooo excited

There/ They're/ Their. Different words.

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
