I just look deep in thought, staring at the floor, or rummage through my bag. Texting or calling is a good one though; I should use that next time.

I always pretend to text or talk on the phone when I dont want to talk to someone. Its nice to know Im not the only one that does that!

some times i pretend to be texting someone if im trying to avoid people. oh well at least im not the only one...

I always listen to music or the radio on my phone through my headphones so people generally don't try to stop me and if they do I just do what all londoners do which is to keep walking by and totally ignore everything else aorund you.

Yep. Usually pretend I'm texting. I struggle to convincingly have an imaginary conversation with no one

Yeah, if I'm on my own walking somewhere I usually have my mp3 player on. I see a lot of people round campus I know, sometimes I say hi, sometimes we both look at the floor to avoid the issue of whether we know each other well enough to say hi.

I find myself looking busy a lot to avoid certain housemates who aren't talking to me at the moment.

I prefer texting (txtin) people (ppl) than phoning them because (bcos) texting is more fun
