For a station that is trying to strengthen it's ties with the 'youth' it seems odd for them to revert to a dance outside broadcast on New Year's Eve. How do the daytime DJs promote that over Christmas. It's not like saying "join Scott for his New Year's show" it's "if you like dance, you might like this..."

I personally liked what they did a year or two back counting down the best moments of Radio 1 of that year. Is this what Chris is doing or is it just based on his show? Alright it appeared to be fixed to make the DAB broadcast something that filled 2 hours, but it was good to hear stuff like that again. I guess this means Scott could do his own highlights in his shows.

It'll be odd not having Scott on for the change of year. I didn't think the last one was that great, as it focused on something you had to have a Freeview box for.

I hope Chris is coming live on New Year's Eve. Moyles and Mills pre-records aren't that enjoyable when you can't have input.

Christmas Day...

1pm to 3pm: "Kylie Minogue hosts her own show on Christmas Day as a stocking-filler for BBC Radio 1 listeners. Kylie plays some of her favourite songs, both past and present, and chats to David Tennant, ahead of the special Christmas edition of Doctor Who, in which she also stars."

Get in. That should be very, very good.

New Year's Eve...

7pm to 10pm: To be confirmed - Scott Mills.

I hope so. I really enjoyed last years show, but the family got a bit vexed that I'd rather welcome in the new year with the radio than them. At least this way I don't have to choose.

New Year's Day...

7am to 7pm: Chris Moyles's All Day Breakfast. Chris Moyles brings listeners 12 hours of highlights from the past year this New Year's Day, as he takes a look back at some of his favourite guests and musical tracks.

That should be amazing. I'll definitely have the radio on all day, especially if it's live.

Perhaps he lost the real schedule in the post somewhere...

Coincidentally the tax benefits office sent us a letter today to apologise for losing our details.

Get in. That should be very, very good.

I presumed they had enough talent this year to make it a good Christmas Day. They have Greg and Vicki Blight for a start. Instead we're treated to documentary style shows and a Kylie Minogue special that was presumably recorded when she popped into see Jo Whiley.

Kylie Minogue is to host a two-hour Christmas Day programme on GMG's Real Radio and Century FM stations.

The Kylie Christmas Show will air from 10am to 12pm on the day. She will play a wide variety of her favourite songs, "some just for fun and some more poignant".

Ah, so that ruins the Kylie Minogue exclusive show then. She's doing the whole lot.
