Jordan North's sexuality

I don't like to pry, and I'm aware such a thing can be a private matter, but I noticed Jordan North has been joking more about sexuality recently. On Judge Jordan he said he was bisexual. Is this the case? He doesn't talk about having a girlfriend.

Good thing about Jordan I feel he’s decent to tell a joke in a respectful and non-offensive way. I think it doesn’t matter to the listener his sexuality is. I don’t expect presenters to divulge their personal relationships not unless they want to. If Jordan says he’s bisexual, he’s bisexual. The only one that knows Jordan North’s sexuality is Jordan. I take his or anyones word on their personal life as its no one else’s He might not talk about having a girlfriend boyfriend as he may not be in a committed relationship at the minute.

That said I know that sharing something as personal will gain much respect and the listeners would find it may help them to hear. But he shares what he likes.

For what it’s worth he has talked about previous girlfriends in the past, but I don’t think this really matters or needs a thread for that matter.

It should be, but at the same time, he should feel he can say if it's the case.

Everybody's outlook is different on their sexuality.

I am not in the closet but I don't talk about the fact I am "mostly gay" in work.  However, as it isn't a secret I can't believe it isn't widely known.  Nor do I care.

He can say or not say it but agree with @R1Fan1 that its doesn’t deserve its own gossip topic.  We should be passed the point and move on from sexuality gossip and poking noses in peoples private lives. @AndyK77 If you are bisexual its not ‘mostly gay’.

Perfectly summed up here a year or two ago:

Quote

If Jordan wanted to talk about it, he would – and the pressure he’s bound to be under should everyone continue searching for, or talking about his sexuality is something no one should face. Whether Jordan North is gay, straight, bisexual or beyond is completely his business, and given he’s been on our radio waves for years now and our TV screens for weeks, if he wanted to share that he would’ve already.

Sexuality is a spectrum and I feel that description fits me better than bisexual.

I agree that when it comes to our own identities whatever language you use is fine and I don’t have the right to tell you words to use. So I respect that.

Does he do a good radio show and entertain people? Think that's kind of what really matters here.

He may or may not be. But even if he is, it's probably not his style to keep bringing it up and throwing the fact at people in every link. Someone's sexuality has way too much fuss and focus these days anyway imo, people can possess other qualities too. It's not all about what and who they are attracted to, infact it's entitled to be a private matter for them anyway.

on the grid.

Yep to be honest whether Jordan is straight or not is his own business at the end of the day. Plus it's clear Vick & him keep some parts of their private lives off the radio - many a time you'll hear the phrase 'Jordan/Vick doesn't talk about those things' when it comes to their relationships and there's only ever passing comments about Vick's relationship to Calvin Harris that you wouldn't catch unless you knew about it.

I don't listen to it too regularly but when I'm heard him on 'Help I'm Sexted My Boss' he does come across as accepting and open-minded with William Hanson being a big friend of his.

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
