Me thinks your reading to much into it this is turning into one of those crackpot conspiracy threads on the interweb we'll be claiming this paul bloke is covering aliens up next. Its all getting a bit tiresome for me and I couldn't care less about it any thats my twopennys worth.

For what it's worth I've reluctantly been following this with a cautious eye and an open mind since it all kicked off and I have my own theories. I'm posting this on a few blogs and boards so that when the truth is out and one of my theories are correct you can all say I got it first. And before you all start pointing the finger at me if this is my first post on your blog/messageboard then forget it (though I do like the idea of being part of it so actually you can accuse away).

OK here goes.

The 'BBC did it' argument

It could be the BBC promoting something like their up and coming Big Weekend. Perhaps Franz Ferdinand on the London Eye maybe (Frozen Indigo Angel anagram minus 1 letter)? Though it is interesting it appeared on a Arctic Monkey podcast and on the DAB tracklisting screen just as Edith Bowman was playing an Arctic Monkeys song. Another Arctic Monkeys gig perhaps? Do Radio 1 need to promote Arctic Northern Monkeys any more than they have done in the last few weeks though? I think not. They could be using Arctic Monkeys because there are some clues in the songs? Are the clues in the songs? 'Brianstorm' is a wordplay on Brainstorm (where lots of people come together and discuss ideas - which is what we are doing here) ... 'Top marks for not trying' - well done to everyone who didn't get sucked in perhaps? 'You are the unforcasted storm' - the storm that is whatever this is all about? 'See ya later innovator' - suggests something innovative is happening? Viral marketing is no longer innovative... could this be something more than 'another bloody youtube video to send to all your mates' hence the 'See ya later'? It might not be Radio 1, it could be BBC 1 promoting Doctor Who with a little help from their friends at Radio 1 (Both the doctor and his assistant appeared with Jo Whiley recently - perhaps there were clues in there that we missed? All of a sudden Scott Mills appears as the new host for the National Lottery - coincidence or case of 'you scratch my back I'll scratch yours'.

The 'Denchfield did it' argument.

I'm thinking too deep on that one but to be honest I don't think it is from within the BBC. Here's why I think Denchfield did it. OK Podcasts, Vodcasts and Tracklistings can't be faked from the outside, we all have them on our computers, downloaded from the Radio 1 website. I don't doubt that they happened... but I think he did them whilst working for Radio 1. He would have had access. Anything that has happened since he left has been questionable. Now he hasn't access they are appearing in places that could easily be faked. No one spotted the TV screen in real time - he could have easily faked it himself in Photoshop and said it happened. Also, didn't he used to be in a reality TV show ('Wanted' on Channel 4)? Then surely he is either trying to build his own online reality show (and god knows where it will take us) or he is promoting the return of 'Wanted' or some other reality show? He's got to do something other than sit at home watching Jeremy Kyle regretting messing with the mighty BBC wondering if he'll ever get back behind or in front of the camera. 'Wanted'? More like 'Unwanted' Paul.

Other theories

The 'Neither the BBC did it or Paul Denchfield' argument. What if there is a real plot going on here. This could be the work of an ex-employee who left on good terms - do the BBC change passwords every time someone leaves or only after less than amicable partings like this? What if someone has got access to the BBC servers and databases? It could be something simple like someone with access left and has started his own band call 'Frozen Indigo Angel'...or it could be more sinister. What if someone really has been planting subliminal messages for ages and these are the first to be spotted. Have we all been subliminalled and does anyone know if subliminal messages really work? What if Derren Brown has subliminaled us all and we only think we are spotting Frozen Indigo Angel on the BBC - a genius plot by Channel 4?

I don't know. I love a conspiracy theory, I'm partial to 'good' viral marketing and have got nothing better to do in work other than waste time on this kinda stuff. Either way, I'm enjoying the ride that we are all probably taken for.... it'll be fun seeing what happens along the way.

    • The BBC commissioning brief mentions it is a 'mid morning show' for Radio 1 Dance https://www.bbc.co.uk/commissioning/radio/documents/comm_brief_r1_dance_morning_show.pdf
    • Nothing to apologise about, I was just intrigued on how DS and UM react
    • I would be pretty confident that if they keep avoiding using James Cusack on that slot over the next few weeks, then it will probably be him that gets the show permanently!
    • That’s two names who probably won’t be doing that slot permanently then.
    • Moyles spent most of the 52hr sgow calling him that lol
    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
    • Maia Beth is doing Friday Early Breakfast on 7th & 14th June.
    • Joel Mitchell is in for Nat on Sunday 9th June.
    • Ore Olukoga is on 13.00-16.00 on Friday 31st May and Friday 7th June.  Nikita Kanda is doing Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.
    • Very pleased for producer Amy - it's no coincidence many of the best shows in recent years have had her working on them. You can tell her & Helena are a great production duo and that the whole Matt & Mollie team are a really close-knit unit in general. Some lovely speeches by both Matt & Mollie too to end the show on Sunday.
    • Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots. A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1. Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
    • James Cusack is in for Jack on Friday 14th June, doing the chart while Jack is at Download.
    • I remember hearing Amy first on Scotts show and she was great on that, the daft quiz questions always made me smile. It's really nice to see the hard work has paid off for them all.
