Sian Eleri for mid-morning is a bold call ...

... Specialist shows do need a 'stable' position in the schedule (9pm clashes with the R2 specialist shows, for me, though).

Maybe try Jack and Clara together for the 'Evening Sessions'?

A 'hard No' to Rock Show on a Sunday - Fri or Sat is place for that.

Good shout on Rock Show i never know what day that would suit

Yes!  When I think about it I would have like to seen her paired with Vicky or Dean.  I like both of them but I think they need a balance for all that ALL ENERGY ALL THE TIME.

Wasn't meant in derogatory way - She's just soooh perfect for the darker hours, is all I meant. I rate her highly.

Always a fun thread but I almost think it needs to be "ideal line-up after Greg leaves" as few of us would turf Greg off breakfast but in my case I'd love Jordan or Jordan and Katie on breakfast.  I've also worked on the basis that Adele, Rickie and Melvin, Matt and Mollie won't be on the station indefinitely.

I've also made longer shows to keep live programming on-air longer into the evening.

Monday to Friday

0400 - 0700 Early Breakfast with Arielle Free

0700 - 1000 Breakfast with Jordan and Katie

1000 - 1300 Emil Franchi

1300 - 1600 Sam and Danni

1600 - 1900 Jack Saunders on Drive (Chart on Friday until 1800)

1900 - 2200 Combine Future Sounds and Future Artists with Kerri Cosh (Keep Danny Howard at 1800 and Sarah at 2000)

2200 - 0100 Late night show with Jeremiah Asiamah  (Pete Tong Friday).

0100 - 0300 Specialist Shows

Weekends

0700 - 1000 James Cusack

1000 - 1300 Arille Free

1300 - 1600 Vick Hope

1600 - 1900 Dance Anthems with Charlie Hedges (Sat) Life Hacks with Vicky Hawkesworth (Sunday)

1900 - 2200 Jeremiah Asiamah (Satuday) New Music of the week with Kerri Cosh (Sunday)

2100 Documentary type show (Sunday)

2200 - 0100 Charlie Tee (Saturday)

2200 - 0000 Indie Show with Nels Hylton

I personally would have big rock and alternative on Thursday nights with the rock and alternative stuff as to radio 1’s very dances stuff. Dont think would give Alyx two hour nightly stuff as it works good keeping the hy-brid of Kerrang Radio and the Rock Introducting would find it odd to have Hawkesworth over Eleri to do Chillest show but 2200-0100 where it needs to be chillest show

I should say that I struggle to suggest changes to the current line-up as I largely like it and think it's a fairly good line-up

The only bits I'd possibly change are Vick and Dean for the reasons I've already said (too excitable for that timeslot - might work on breakfast or drive on some station) and Clara (who I think is a great presenter but I think for new music you need the explosion of passion).  Plus Katie for Vick with Jordan.

So in other words I agree with the original poster ? @TheSaviourisHere

I agree on the comments of Clara Amfo not being best suited with Future Sounds but think Jack Saunders should be the one for that slot.

if I was rescheduling I’d least have Melvin, Rickie, Charlie, Clara, Matt, Mollie, Greg and Dan P Carter moving on and even Pete Tong with move to Radio 2 do feel eventually Benji would move his show to 6M

Rather than doing documentary show on sunday evenings I would think that if BBC had simplified rebrand and reshape of the factual podcasting and programming that having Newsbeat at least turn the 15 minute daily newsbeat into something that could be podcastable but if the newsbeat presenters did podcast series that came synonymously promoted and targetted to Radio 1’s audience that would be better than a one hour time slot but in-terms of documentary stuff when Radio 1 does informative I prefer it to be something organic as Lifehacks. Why before advocated for one of the daily time slots to have some embedded conversations would see in Lifehacks and relate to newsbeat or stuff like that having smart ways of embedding one to three minute length mini documentary conversations in a one show in the daytime schedule that would have a text, tweet, whats app question linked with it and embedding the listeners responses into short links in between songs and having odd semi length interviews like with lifehacks where put listeners questions forward. Interms of the documentary stuff would think the Radio 1 and 1 Xtra stories programme doesn’t feel like fitting format that fits with the audience having a longer show where could fit small bits of content that could happen mid day. As TikTok shows short form is way to go and think its finding fine balance of embedding suggested having ‘Groupchat’ as a daily daytime show before where could do this mixed in with funny stories and certain movie, music reviews and in line with the playlist.

But in terms of other informative content the station should do is maybe do LifeHacks live Q&A online only through likes of instagram live, youtube, tiktok, twitter spaces and the likes and find digital all together brand for the informative and helpful stuff for a young audience that is multi-platform

I think Jack going to drive unless he gets to do the music specialism bit of waste of his talents if he had that slot could last out and leave a Zane Lowe esq legacy. With Greg doing five to six years by the next change think he has had his run so I see reasons for moving him on

    • I don't know about that but somebody's messed up with the dates on the lanyards this year, they're all the wrong date!
    • Is big weekend the only place to get long boi merch? It's sold out! I'd love to have got my hands on some.
    • Considering the price of some festival event for a small portions can be pricey but it isn’t too bad that could get it with chips and other roast dinner bits. I think when you are billed as a touring high profile DJ there’s always a risk of playing out familiar tracks from other artists in the mix. Especially on a line-up with Chase and Status and Rudimental who will be playing pretty much all tracks written, produced and released as their DJing names.
    • Matt & Mollie I believe (and on the radio occassional studio bits from Jack Saunders, Sam & Danni and Maia Beth).
    • Obvs - Scott 2-4 and Trevor Nelson are also in 82A
    • Who presented Party Anthems on stage?
    • Lots of adverts for Matt and Mollie around the place, alongside the rest of the weekday lineup, but no mention of Dean and/or Vicky. Although I notice those two are doing the photobooth today, as is Danny Beard…
    • Yesterday was excellent pretty much all day. You can tell a lot of work has gone into the festival and the set up was really good. The ground is fine for anyone worried, I wore old trainers and they’re still fine today.    Merchandise is available for some high prices. If you’re going for Longboi merch get it early as they sold out within the first couple of hours.    The photo booth is also good and we met Vick, Katie and Jamie for a few seconds and got a photo. If you’re doing this get there 15-20 minutes before the advertised time as they’re only 30 minute slots. It’s right next to the main stage so you can see everything going on there from the queue anyway. Most of the acts we saw were excellent. Becky Hill and Ella Henderson were brilliant live. Rudimental and Chase and Status were absolutely incredible. Nathan Dawe wasn’t great, played 3 of his own songs then dodgy remixes of Marvin Gaye, Dolly Parton etc. Went to Dimension halfway through which was must better. Saw 15-20 minutes of Eric Prydz which wasn’t really my thing but his staging was excellent.  The DJ sets in between everything were pretty good, especially Matt and Mollie and Charlie Hedges. Sam and Danni were a welcome change as they played indie anthems for a while although I think they may have just been the pre recorded anthems they usually play on weekends (still better than Nathan Dawe). Food was good, but pricey - £15 for my main meal of roast pork, stuffing, chips and Yorkshire pudding. I was surprised they were selling multipacks of Madri and bottles of wine, especially the latter as people were walking around swigging from glass bottles in the middle of the crowd then dumping them on the floor… the rubbish was a mess at the end of the night. Probably one of the best live music events I’ve ever been to, a real credit to the station.
    • While there were some technical issues (tracks temporarily cutting out, mics not working at first for radio listeners, 'studio team' sometimes jumping in at quite random intervals) Party Anthems on stage seemed to work well and I sort of wonder why they haven't done it before. I guess it depends on when gates open but if gates open around 1/2pm then no excuse not to do it- it's a DJ set which they have loads of across the weekend and acts as a warm-up so the crowd are hot for the first main act.
    • They mentioned on air that it's before Joel Corry's set.
    • When is the set for Greg and Tom? I’m having trouble getting on to Insta and Google is not helping.
    • Jess Iszatt is in for Jack on Monday 27th May.
    • The two larger studios either side of the Live Lounge are 82A (aka 82Mills) and 82D.  The 4 smaller ones nearby are 82B, C, E & F.  The brand new ones are nearby on the 8th floor and are 82K, L, M & N.  All of the London-based R2 and 6M shows are coming from the 8th floor, some in the new studios and some in the original ones.  Obviously there are a lot of shows that come from elsewhere in the country such as Birmingham, Salford and Cardiff, but any in London come from the 8th floor.   In terms of R1 at the moment:   82A - Greg James, Danny Howard, Jeremiah Asiamah 82B - Early Breakfast Mon-Fri, Dan P Carter, Sarah Story, Charlie Tee 82D - RMC, Going Home, Future Artists, Future Pop, Rave Up, 13.00-16.00 Fri-Sun 82E - Official Chart, Chillest Show 82F - Dance Anthems, Kenny Allstar, Indie Show 82N - New Music Show Salford - Dean & Vicky, Danny Beard, Nat O'Leary, Life Hacks Cardiff - Sam & Danni
