I watched it, and like every year I watch it got bored after 20 minutes as the game just stops all the time, they stop for ads every 10 mins and I don't really understand the rules but if someone gets tackled, they stop again.

I only watched the 1st quarter (which is 15mins) but because of all the pauses, it took about an hour to play 15 minutes of actuall football

i dont understand it. i can't therefore grasp it so i'm not interested, i always imagine the american sports network from mark & lards show for some reason, w.a.n.k cincinnati.

rugby is better i think.

Exactly, its utter shat.

Theyre american. More ads equal more money. Of course thats what will happen.

As with cricket, i will never ever understand the rules to this game. And as with cricket, its like watching paint dry.

there is a bowling place here called superbowl

Theres one here too.

A friends boyfriend was at the match last night, and no wonder all the guys in first lesson were dead as they had been watching the superbowl till 3am and were complaining to us that they were tired.

I hate football, and sports in general. I only watch for the commercials and halftime show.

Since the Super Bowl is the most watched thing on TV all year, commercial time goes for about 12 million dollars per ad or something ridiculous like that, and people expect Super Bowl commercials to be really good, and usually they are very funny and entertaining. Most of them only run during the Super Bowl and never again. This year they were stupid. I'm one of those people who only watches it for the commercials. Loads of people do that.

Quoting someone from something that i really cant be bothered remembering properly;

"American Football is just another way of giving steroid pumping gays another chance to reach in between the legs of another man, and grab some 'balls'; yelling wildly for no apparent reason is all part of the fun"

The most heroic act is the one that no-one knows about.

The 2009 'Superbowl' is tomorrow (Sunday) 11pm ~ about 3am

Will you watch it - live or recorded? I'm not a fan of American Football but watched it last year, I expect I'll watch it again this year.

I love how you guys are just like "its so stupid I dont get it"!

Not a football fan myself....

But here in the US this is THE sport. Every high school in the country has a team. Americans love their football. Its on TV like every day. And its tradition to have Super Bowl parties, where you get a huge bowl of potato chips and pork rinds and have all your friends over to watch the game. Our Super Bowl is like your World Cup....only every year.

When I hear Chappers doing the sports news all he talks about is soccer (your football) and cricket. Those are the main sports in the UK. Here we have lots of sports but the whole country loves football the most.

My brother is obsessed.

    • Since Radio 1 Dance and Anthems have been allowed to broadcast on DAB, do we think they’ll be a proper schedule of shows like on Radio 1 Dance with the morning show and Dance Anthems at drive time. Maybe Lauren Redfern, Tyler Selby, Chrissy Cameron or Matt Hallsworth will be scheduled on named shows like Hits Radio 00s or Capital Anthems rather than the generic ‘Radio 1 Anthems’ show. Obviously it would probably cost more to produce actual shows on the station however.
    • There's been a lot of positive reaction to the Mylo and Rosie news so am interested now to hear what their shows are like. And yep wouldn't be surprised if they stay on beyond July as cover ever so often. And that Friday-Sunday news was hidden in the small print a little. It presumably means we lose Party Anthems all that month as that is what has happened this year with Big Weekend, Glasto for example. I certainly I hope it isn't Party Anthems being quietly axed full stop - it and Future Pop are 2 real hidden gems on Radio 1.
    • I’m pleased for Mylo and Rosie, they were highly thought of in our local area and definitely worthy of that slot
    • I’m thinking the same redding and Leeds etc
    • -Considering how little Jamie has appeared since Vick went off on maternity, it probably would've been more sensible to have Sam & Danni taking over from that point and have him return with Katie. - Mylo and Rosie are apparently very good and one of the more popular local presenters who lost their slot when Hits went fully national. I gather they are very popular in Yorkshire. I can see them definitely see them popping up again beyond this stint. -Life Hacks cover is yet another good opportunity for some new voices (I know Yinka has popped up in the past). I have enjoyed Pete Allison covering though. I'm assuming most of August's Friday to Sunday 1-4pm will be made up of festival coverage.
    • - Jamie Laing will take a break from Going Home from 28th July. Sam and Danni will cover. - Greg James will host his show until 11am from 21st July (Monday to Thursday only). - Mylo and Rosie, who previously hosted Hits Radio Breakfast in West Yorkshire, will host Friday EB in July. - Charley Marlowe of TikTok fame will host Friday EB in August. - Tskenya Frazer will host Life Hacks with Lauren Layfield in July, whilst Yinka Bikinni will host with Lauren in August. - Jamie Laing and Katie Thistleton will return to Going Home in September.
    • @eddemundo Thank you 👏🏼 👏🏼 That took some listening on Sounds to get that
