Ditto Two Door Cinema Club & Sean Paul who hadn’t been on playlist rotation for a good while prior to the time of 2019’s big weekend.

A lot of it will depend on who the organisers Festival Republic & The BBC can get booked & who is touring at the time & indeed who is available that weekend.

I mean i think at the time those two acts may have had radio play with new single. I mean Dave does have good chance popular on Radio 1 and there tends to be an act 1 Xtra would play out one performance of

That would be good - the two TBA’s leave it a bit of guess work for which day to go for! Book Saturday and know who you’re getting or Sunday and perhaps end up with the best line up (or not!)

She lives mostly in America Adele but no longer an import could it be an artist like Dua Lipa. I mean Adele would be big act that still gets a lot of radio 1 play and has a mass appeal beyond the station and may seek interest of making it a BBC One special for her performance.

If it wasn’t for Glastonbury the dead obvious one would be Billie Eilish. Contenders may include Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga a while since they performed. The Weeknd think the station would like him returning considering he’s put out few projects since last time.  BTS less likely but a lot of social media interest when comes to radio play on radio 1 of the act and given a BBC One special. Think when future pop lands it would be case that on Mollie Kings show may play some K-Pop and some non-western pop acts

He was scheduled to headline Dundee 2020 so it could be a good idea to have him headline the Saturday as Ed Sheeran won’t be the headliner due to performing in Cardiff on the same evening

Harry Styles has just said his new single is out Friday. I suspect if he is on the bill, they'll time the announcement around this publicity.

Wonder if he’ll pop up on Breakfast plugging it. Look forward to listening to his new single.

As mentioned on the chatbox, Harry is speaking to Greg tomorrow morning.

He kicks off a tour in June so Big Weekend would be a good start for him.

Well at least we've got a guess right for once! Capital narrowly pipped them with the Summertime Ball announcement. Assumed he would be at Big Weekend after that!

He seems to be very much a big deal for festival bookings atm, Capital have announced him as their main billing for the Summertime Ball as well. Pà Salieu and Rina Sawayama have been added to the Future Sounds stage on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

It sounds like someone might have dropped out, there seemed to be mixed messaging about how many other acts were being added to the line-up and Charli XCX seems to have swapped stages.

    • Intrigued why Matt & Mollie aren't presenting breakfast on Monday, with James in for them instead (which has happened before).. or even James given a chance to present the breakfast show?
    • Sam & Danni seem to be down for Breakfast on Monday. James Cusack on Going Home. That’s another new name in the list of “people who have hosted Going Home in 2025”.
    • Wednesday, surely? But this is another mess, as this weeks Summer press release said it’ll be Sam & Danni no Jamie from the 28th - so it’s actually a whole week earlier!
    • Jamie Laing’s last show before his summer break will be on Wednesday 16th July.
    • I worked out once Scott spent 3 months of a year off his own slot in the Moyles days and more like 4 in Grimmys days, six weeks of his own holiday and projects, six covering Grimmy plus some ad hoc days
    • Back on topic, I think there's quite a few of the current Radio 1 presenters who would be able to adapt to Radio 2's style in the future. It's more of question of how many of them will actually end up there. With much of R2's line up changed over the past couple of years, it's quite possible we won't see much movement there, and R2 management might even decide to look elsewhere to bring in new presenters in future.
    • With OJ covering on bank holidays. She is the best person for the job however... they're going to end up with a situation like Scott covering R1 breakfast back in the day, where she spends quite a bit of time off her own slot covering Breakfast, plus her own holiday and other commitments. She's been filming for something recently which has meant she's been off several days a week since May. She was off last week, on breakfast this week, OJ is on Mon/Tues next week, then She's off the following two weeks.
    • Looking back at this I would say now that Sara is the main cover - I think she has been reestablished as it now
    • Purley on the R1 Dance station.. Someone on DS said don't expect to see any changes to the schedule on the new stations however if they are taking on Capital Dance with this, which they clearly are, which has live presenters 7am - 10pm except for the 11am mix then they'll surely have to have a proper scheduled set of shows. At the moment Arielle is the only "live" per say show and only "live" a few days a week with earlier shows being repeated Thursday Friday and Saturday. Connor and Charlie are clearly pre records but was this only for the time it was online only and they have already got a schedule ready to go on day 1? also of note is that Charlie is taking over a podcast as well as starting a new project with podcasting which makes me wonder if she is about to step back from Dance Anthems all together to concentrate on those and Connor takes over? So you could have Arielle doing 9-12 weekdays live then someone else 12-3 and Connor live 3-6 on R1D and doing Dance Anthems on a Saturday.
    • As none of the Going Home Team aren't currently on the air, that's a bit if an issue. Considering most of the Dance DJs will be out there, I'm surprised none of them are being utilised to host the 1-4 slot that weekend.
    • Going Home presenters have done the last few years ?
    • Nat and Vicky are being sent to Ibiza this year. They’ll be live on Friday 1st August from 1-4pm.
    • Since Radio 1 Dance and Anthems have been allowed to broadcast on DAB, do we think they’ll be a proper schedule of shows like on Radio 1 Dance with the morning show and Dance Anthems at drive time. Maybe Lauren Redfern, Tyler Selby, Chrissy Cameron or Matt Hallsworth will be scheduled on named shows like Hits Radio 00s or Capital Anthems rather than the generic ‘Radio 1 Anthems’ show. Obviously it would probably cost more to produce actual shows on the station however.
    • There's been a lot of positive reaction to the Mylo and Rosie news so am interested now to hear what their shows are like. And yep wouldn't be surprised if they stay on beyond July as cover ever so often. And that Friday-Sunday news was hidden in the small print a little. It presumably means we lose Party Anthems all that month as that is what has happened this year with Big Weekend, Glasto for example. I certainly I hope it isn't Party Anthems being quietly axed full stop - it and Future Pop are 2 real hidden gems on Radio 1.
    • I’m pleased for Mylo and Rosie, they were highly thought of in our local area and definitely worthy of that slot
