From R1 article:

The free tickets (note: standard booking fees apply) will be distributed to young people across the UK, with the help of The Prince’s Trust, UK Youth and Youth Music.

A special selection of tickets will also be available to listeners via on-air competitions. Keep listening to Radio 1 to find out how to join the party.

BBC Radio 1 is hosting a free party with live music to celebrate the return of the night out, with AJ Tracey, Joel Corry, Sam Fender, Griff and Biffy Clyro the first acts to be named.

Guess something to sort of fill the gap with not being able to do Teen Awards and Big Weekends for two years. But with in SSE Arena Wembley on Saturday there maybe have element of the capital balls to it

Does this mean the general public won’t be able to get tickets other than outside of the competitions?

A nice touch to let young carers and the like get a handful of tickets before the public does

In fairness radio 1 have always tried to support young carers remember one excellent thing I liked with what could’ve been Greg’s first Christmas in the Breakfast time slot sure did series of surprise thank you things for listeners with organising a party for young carers with listeners involved with arranging different things

This does really give that this is the best of radio 1 vibes to it
