Britain's Civil Aviation Authority said no conclusion should be drawn on the airworthiness of civilian aircraft, which have shown no sign of ash damage.

Henri Gaudru, the president of the European Volcanological Society, defended the earlier the flight bans.

i still cannot see how it is right that you can buy a ticket for 9euro & then buy no fault of the airline your flight is canceled you can submit a expenses bill for 800euros for hotel & food etc, if the flight is canceled due to the airline.

if the airlines don't get compensation due to the losses on the ash problems that these costs combined with forecast losses of $2.8bn this year could force some airlines into bankruptcy or other cuts like jobs.

I also think it was the correct decision, if not totally sure then don't fly the planes.
