Scott Mills-itus

Someone wrote into "Dear Scott" on this mornings show claiming they had Scott Mills-itus which they are just getting into TV programs that have been on for quite a while (Like Scott and Merlin). After hearing this message, I realized that I suffer from this condition myself. I'm just starting to discover the joys of Family Guy, Scrubs and The Mighty Boosh which I understand have been discovered by most people a while back. Do you suffer form this condition too?

I've got it, just started getting into Gavin & Stacy, Scrubs and Desperate Housewives, which surprisingly isn't that bad!

I watched the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special last night and thought it was quite good, might get into it.

Yep, i've got a mild case of it myself. I've asked for many cd's and dvd's that i hadn't listened to/watched for xmas, that i missed when they were big. Like mgmt's new (now quite old) album, and the bourne ulitmatum box set. And also just got into gavin and stacey.

I got MGMT's album a while back and it's ace. Track 5 (I think it's 5) is amarzin.

Is it too late to get into knight rider?

To be honest I haven't even got a clue what shows you're talking about. I haven't got tv and I wont' get it ;) Waste of time. I get my entertainment from DVDs once or twice a week.

anyone remember the mr blobby song? greg james played it on his wonder years on xmas eve. but i think 15 or so years is a bit too long to get back into it, i wouldn't anyway, i was terrified of him when i was a kid and still am.

and yeah mgmt's album is quite amazing, especially "kids". i also got "alive" by daft punk which is a recorded show of them doing a gig in paris. if you're into daft punk, i properly properly properly properly properly recommend it.

I can't remember much about Mr. Blobby, I would have only been 1 or 2. He was partnered with Noel Edmonds wasn't he?

I've never heard of Daft Punk but I'll look into them if you recomend them.

I usually start watching shows when they come out because that's when I'm most likely to get into them. There are always exceptions. But with British shows here, we usually get them much later than they show there. I started watching stuff like Primeval, Gavin and Stacey, Skins and Not Going Out when they started in the states, but you've had them on longer.

You've never heard of Daft Punk? Off of 'One More Time'? Oh my god lol. Kanye West used Daft Punk for his 'Stronger' record :)

I say "off of" quiet a bit thanks to Mr Mills, I got the strangest looks possible after saying "Ms McMaster off of school." the girlfriend thinks its stupid, I think its quite fun personally

Scott spells it off've I think.

I've started saying it alot as well but everyone I know knows what it's off because I make them all listen to Mills.

I say 'bley', 'amezzin'' and 'good mornin'' quite a lot, my non-Mills-fanatic friends probably don't have a clue what I'm on about... I refuse to say 'off of' though as it's horribly ungrammatical.

I tried to fight off've but I didn't last long!

The other day I answered the phone with "What's occuring" =/

    • The BBC commissioning brief mentions it is a 'mid morning show' for Radio 1 Dance https://www.bbc.co.uk/commissioning/radio/documents/comm_brief_r1_dance_morning_show.pdf
    • Nothing to apologise about, I was just intrigued on how DS and UM react
    • I would be pretty confident that if they keep avoiding using James Cusack on that slot over the next few weeks, then it will probably be him that gets the show permanently!
    • That’s two names who probably won’t be doing that slot permanently then.
    • Moyles spent most of the 52hr sgow calling him that lol
    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
    • Maia Beth is doing Friday Early Breakfast on 7th & 14th June.
    • Joel Mitchell is in for Nat on Sunday 9th June.
    • Ore Olukoga is on 13.00-16.00 on Friday 31st May and Friday 7th June.  Nikita Kanda is doing Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.
    • Very pleased for producer Amy - it's no coincidence many of the best shows in recent years have had her working on them. You can tell her & Helena are a great production duo and that the whole Matt & Mollie team are a really close-knit unit in general. Some lovely speeches by both Matt & Mollie too to end the show on Sunday.
    • Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots. A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1. Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
    • James Cusack is in for Jack on Friday 14th June, doing the chart while Jack is at Download.
    • I remember hearing Amy first on Scotts show and she was great on that, the daft quiz questions always made me smile. It's really nice to see the hard work has paid off for them all.
