The new idea which gives you a six pack, or larger breasts by painting on stuff to your body.

I think it's worrying, as we discussed in psychology (we discuss anything!), it shows how shallow we all are... how far do you think we'll go now we've had botox and fake tan etc...

Psychology is da bomb, as they say.

Anyway, I think if people are unhappy to such an extent as they feel necessary to seek changes to improve their appearance then that's fine. Agreed, some of these 'improvements' and the methods used are, and can be, somewhat shocking but the anxiety and torment people endure with feeling inherently unhappy about their appearance can lead to all sorts of mental and psychological problems.

if they are that unhappy they should do some sit ups. i hate people who moan about being fat. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. it takes hard work but if you get off your fat arse and so something you wont be such a heffer.

I was watching a program a while back with Anne Witicombe as an agony aunt. (sad i know)

Someone asked her if she was going to write a weight loss book, and she replied there would be no point because it would only contain 2 pages.

1 would say eat and the other would say less.

i lost 3 stone since january and i done it by eating less take aways (its good cos i have more money and i can now cook) and by doing a lot of exercise. at first the exercise is hard but now i enjoy it and going up the gym is part of my life and i never have a day off.

Fair play to you....I tried going to the Gym to get fit, because I haven't really exercised since I left school 5 years ago but lost motivation after a month or so.

Yeah I started gymning about a month ago and go about 3 times a week just to get fitter although I'm not over-weight. Just gives you a good feeling.

I have always been fit. Last year i biked it back from Llangollen in North Wales back into Wolverhampton around 80 mile i think. Over 2 days (although i only did 15 mile on the 1st day), and this year i have been doing a couple of runs into Birmingham City centre and back (around 30 mile each go). Screw the gym, i have found that you get better excersize doing the real thing.

i go to the gym once a week..and teach kids aerobics and i also play hockey for school and i run too...

i need not exercise as i am not fat, in fact should do less and i should eat more

There is too much focus on "outward" appearance. I guess people focus so much on fake tan "crap", etc., etc.... cos they are really not dealing with internal emotional turmoil, and focus on the external stuff. Acceptance of self is wot is needed. I just go swimming and walk a lot, and try to focus on the positive aspects of my stupid Scottish face....
