It depends on how you look at it. I hate people who try to get every single non-Christian person to become Christian, but I love people who are religious and know how to behave. I mean, people who talk about religious stuff, but not constantly.

Why the icon_confused.gif?

In my experience the religious types are usually the kind who think they're better than others because they go to church etc etc. If someone wants to be relgious then fair enough but not when they try and talk to others about it, I mean I'm an aethiest (although why that even needs a title is beyond me) but I don't mention it or bring it up in stories etc etc. If someone asks my opinion I'll give them it but it never comes up unless I'm specifically asked.

Hear. hear. I agree. It's like if they go to church on a Sunday, all can be forgiven for the rest of the week.

while also being most judgemental of anyone else who 'sins'.

I apologise on behalf of some religious people who are idiots and try to convert people. God knows what the sins are now, it seems like if you weren't fully aware of what you were doing then it's not a mortal sin. Learnt that in the actual bullshit that is my RE lessons.

In my experience it's the people who are athiests that like to try and ram this down my throat and like to be rude and insulting merely because I believe in God.

There/ They're/ Their. Different words.

Have to say my experience has been opposite, but with a minority of those who are religious, by no means a majority.

I wonder how many people will be claiming that defence tomorrow morning when they wake up next to someone they don't know after getting absolutely wrecked ;)

Have to say right now I can echo this sentiment. Any time I dare to feel even slightly good, someone or something brings me crashing right back down again... and now having to deal with hypocrisy from a few different directions too, and people going back on their word, which is NOT helping in any way.

Also starting to think I let people off far too easily, give too many chances only to have it all thrown back in my face. I'm done with that shit, now it's ruthless or bust, because I have NOTHING to lose anymore.

Not going to bother being optimistic about anything anymore, because whatever I do my most cynical instincts are yet again the ones proved correct.

The flashing lights.

Oh there were flashing lights, when the ambulance showed up. The migraine came on when I was working, so I pulled over and radio'ed the office to tell them I'd suddenly started to feel unwel, explained my symptoms and said I wasn't fit to continue driving. Someone was sent along to stay with me to see I was alright, and he thought that it would be worth getting me checked out, I think mainly because I'd lost the feeling in my left arm/hand and my speech was slurred.

It was very scary, bad enough when one came on when I was in the car but in a bus it was a whole new level. Wasn't a case of if I was gonna crash if I carried on, it was merely gonna be how much further up the road till it happened.

Well I think that was being considered because when the call was being made and I was being asked to do various things like repeat sentences, raise my arms etc and whoever was on the other end of the phone must have mentioned it because I was asked if I had ever had a stroke before.

Well the paramedics advised I had a talk with someone at work about what is causing me stress and perhaps contact my GP, but they didn't think that taking me to hospital was going to benefit me as I had a clear understanding of what had happened, I had a history of migraine and they were happy that after doing some checks over me that there wasn't any underlying problems.

I've felt better today although obviously not 100%, I just need to concentrate on getting through the next couple of days as I'm off for 2 weeks after that and I can relax

my cousin was involved in a small accident on the motorway this morning, he was a passenger and the van was stopped in traffic. someone wasn't watching the road and hit the back of the van about 40 mph. he's in hospital far away from home having extra x-rays on his neck.

Sorry to hear that DC. Sadly there's all sorts of idiots on the road these days. Hope he gets well soon.

Hope you're doing OK as well Craig. Having a migraine is one of the most horrible experiences you can have. I used to get quite a lot of them when I was at school, thankfully I seem to have grown out of them now.

Pissed off this morning, had one hell of a fucked up dream including phone calls from at least 3 dead people, and woke up far too late for the F1... NOT Happy at all... and a sinking feeling that it can only go downhill from here (though I have that only EVERY FUCKING DAY, and it's usually correct).

he's back round home now, it's not as bad as feared but he'll have to have a few weeks off work.

As a cyclist, I often am reminded of this. And it is good to hear your cousin was not too badly hurt DC.

    • Well looks like Mollie is off all month now so presumably a personal matter.
    • Intrigued why Matt & Mollie aren't presenting breakfast on Monday, with James in for them instead (which has happened before).. or even James given a chance to present the breakfast show?
    • Sam & Danni seem to be down for Breakfast on Monday. James Cusack on Going Home. That’s another new name in the list of “people who have hosted Going Home in 2025”.
    • Wednesday, surely? But this is another mess, as this weeks Summer press release said it’ll be Sam & Danni no Jamie from the 28th - so it’s actually a whole week earlier!
    • Jamie Laing’s last show before his summer break will be on Wednesday 16th July.
    • I worked out once Scott spent 3 months of a year off his own slot in the Moyles days and more like 4 in Grimmys days, six weeks of his own holiday and projects, six covering Grimmy plus some ad hoc days
    • Back on topic, I think there's quite a few of the current Radio 1 presenters who would be able to adapt to Radio 2's style in the future. It's more of question of how many of them will actually end up there. With much of R2's line up changed over the past couple of years, it's quite possible we won't see much movement there, and R2 management might even decide to look elsewhere to bring in new presenters in future.
    • With OJ covering on bank holidays. She is the best person for the job however... they're going to end up with a situation like Scott covering R1 breakfast back in the day, where she spends quite a bit of time off her own slot covering Breakfast, plus her own holiday and other commitments. She's been filming for something recently which has meant she's been off several days a week since May. She was off last week, on breakfast this week, OJ is on Mon/Tues next week, then She's off the following two weeks.
    • Looking back at this I would say now that Sara is the main cover - I think she has been reestablished as it now
    • Purley on the R1 Dance station.. Someone on DS said don't expect to see any changes to the schedule on the new stations however if they are taking on Capital Dance with this, which they clearly are, which has live presenters 7am - 10pm except for the 11am mix then they'll surely have to have a proper scheduled set of shows. At the moment Arielle is the only "live" per say show and only "live" a few days a week with earlier shows being repeated Thursday Friday and Saturday. Connor and Charlie are clearly pre records but was this only for the time it was online only and they have already got a schedule ready to go on day 1? also of note is that Charlie is taking over a podcast as well as starting a new project with podcasting which makes me wonder if she is about to step back from Dance Anthems all together to concentrate on those and Connor takes over? So you could have Arielle doing 9-12 weekdays live then someone else 12-3 and Connor live 3-6 on R1D and doing Dance Anthems on a Saturday.
    • As none of the Going Home Team aren't currently on the air, that's a bit if an issue. Considering most of the Dance DJs will be out there, I'm surprised none of them are being utilised to host the 1-4 slot that weekend.
    • Going Home presenters have done the last few years ?
    • Nat and Vicky are being sent to Ibiza this year. They’ll be live on Friday 1st August from 1-4pm.
    • Since Radio 1 Dance and Anthems have been allowed to broadcast on DAB, do we think they’ll be a proper schedule of shows like on Radio 1 Dance with the morning show and Dance Anthems at drive time. Maybe Lauren Redfern, Tyler Selby, Chrissy Cameron or Matt Hallsworth will be scheduled on named shows like Hits Radio 00s or Capital Anthems rather than the generic ‘Radio 1 Anthems’ show. Obviously it would probably cost more to produce actual shows on the station however.
    • There's been a lot of positive reaction to the Mylo and Rosie news so am interested now to hear what their shows are like. And yep wouldn't be surprised if they stay on beyond July as cover ever so often. And that Friday-Sunday news was hidden in the small print a little. It presumably means we lose Party Anthems all that month as that is what has happened this year with Big Weekend, Glasto for example. I certainly I hope it isn't Party Anthems being quietly axed full stop - it and Future Pop are 2 real hidden gems on Radio 1.
