Who the hell is Heather Mills?

I was suprised at the amount of people my age who don't know who the Chancellor of the Exchequer is. I have a fair idea of who most people are, but up until recently I thought Sinn Fein was an actual person.

Oh and I never knew who John Simm was until a few weeks ago. I've seen him in things but never put the name and face together.

Haha! Oh god, that's hilarious! Seriously, if some of the people that lived near me read that, they'd probably collapse laughing. Sorry, I shouldn't laugh. I had no idea who John Major was until a few weeks ago!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I was put right at the age of about 11 though by my dad, who knows everything.

There's loads of TV personalities I've never heard of. I'd never heard of (Dr?) Gillian McKeith before she was on X-Factor with Moyles and the chances are I won't have heard of most of the people on any celebrity TV show you care to name. I also hadn't heard of Barry Scott of the Cillit Bang adverts until last year. A lot of the time I just pretend to know who these people are while looking them up in Wikipedia. I blame my parents, for not bringing me up with TV properly. I've only ever watched about 1 TV programme with my parents.

When it comes to politics though, I am pretty knowledgable because my family are into that kind of thing and I read the papers.

Gordon Brown ring any bells? Doesn't smile much, and wants to take over from TB...

I did A level Economics, so I had to know that.

Aside from celebrities, what about around the work place? Especially at school. I often wonder what half the people around there do. I think they make up job titles for people at school like some bloke sorting 'community relations'

Not to be confused with John Prescott, who does basically nothing except play croquet and have affairs. He's the huge fat one.

This is like a proper political education lesson! I know basically nothing about TV presenters and celebrities of entertainment though so I might need them explained to me.

In the Hall I live in at University (can't say which one) we had, until February, a Warden. I have no idea what the purpose of the Warden was, except to get grumpy if people walk on the grass or get dropped off on the wrong side of the Hall in a taxi. Anyway, the Warden has been removed on kiddy porn charges (it's not official, but we have heard from reliable sources). Now it is obvious just how little purpose he has. There's already a Hall Manager, and annoying woman who runs the place on behalf of the corporate profit-making side of the University, and a Senior Tutor who hands out fines to people like my neighbour. So the Warden has no purpose, that I can see, and we're much better without one. I only saw him about twice anyway, and can't actually think of what he looks like.

Until Big Brother I hadn't heard of Donny Tourette. Then again, I doubt many other people had either...

I had and so had a lot of people on the Camden music circuit. Towers have a very loyal band of followers, almost cultish. They have a record deal and had a TV show on Bravo, sort of rockumentary. I swear Jono bad mouths Donny just to annoy me...

I'd never heard of highly influential blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughn until this year, I'm embarrassed to admit. Also could not name any captains of England at any sports or Prime Ministers or Presidents of non-European countries (except the tragedy that is Bush that is).

UM is a nice place

LOL It was as in "There's a coffee shop down the road, wanna go for a drink"

My friend is male and they met on a buddhist retreat last year.

My friend said that he is so down to earth and just like a regular guy. I am sure they swapped numbers but my friend denies it and any time I have tried to get hold of his phone to look he is so on to me ;) (He probably has him under an Alias anyway)

    • Nikita Kanda is covering the weekend mid afternoon slot a few times over the next few weeks, as is Ore.
    • No sign of James Cusack at Big Weekend. Ore Olukoga and Nikita Kanda were there. Will they be part of the weekend line-up over summer? Even Joel Mitchell and Tinea Taylor made it.
    • I don't know about that but somebody's messed up with the dates on the lanyards this year, they're all the wrong date!
    • Is big weekend the only place to get long boi merch? It's sold out! I'd love to have got my hands on some.
    • Considering the price of some festival event for a small portions can be pricey but it isn’t too bad that could get it with chips and other roast dinner bits. I think when you are billed as a touring high profile DJ there’s always a risk of playing out familiar tracks from other artists in the mix. Especially on a line-up with Chase and Status and Rudimental who will be playing pretty much all tracks written, produced and released as their DJing names.
    • Matt & Mollie I believe (and on the radio occassional studio bits from Jack Saunders, Sam & Danni and Maia Beth).
    • Obvs - Scott 2-4 and Trevor Nelson are also in 82A
    • Who presented Party Anthems on stage?
    • Lots of adverts for Matt and Mollie around the place, alongside the rest of the weekday lineup, but no mention of Dean and/or Vicky. Although I notice those two are doing the photobooth today, as is Danny Beard…
    • Yesterday was excellent pretty much all day. You can tell a lot of work has gone into the festival and the set up was really good. The ground is fine for anyone worried, I wore old trainers and they’re still fine today.    Merchandise is available for some high prices. If you’re going for Longboi merch get it early as they sold out within the first couple of hours.    The photo booth is also good and we met Vick, Katie and Jamie for a few seconds and got a photo. If you’re doing this get there 15-20 minutes before the advertised time as they’re only 30 minute slots. It’s right next to the main stage so you can see everything going on there from the queue anyway. Most of the acts we saw were excellent. Becky Hill and Ella Henderson were brilliant live. Rudimental and Chase and Status were absolutely incredible. Nathan Dawe wasn’t great, played 3 of his own songs then dodgy remixes of Marvin Gaye, Dolly Parton etc. Went to Dimension halfway through which was must better. Saw 15-20 minutes of Eric Prydz which wasn’t really my thing but his staging was excellent.  The DJ sets in between everything were pretty good, especially Matt and Mollie and Charlie Hedges. Sam and Danni were a welcome change as they played indie anthems for a while although I think they may have just been the pre recorded anthems they usually play on weekends (still better than Nathan Dawe). Food was good, but pricey - £15 for my main meal of roast pork, stuffing, chips and Yorkshire pudding. I was surprised they were selling multipacks of Madri and bottles of wine, especially the latter as people were walking around swigging from glass bottles in the middle of the crowd then dumping them on the floor… the rubbish was a mess at the end of the night. Probably one of the best live music events I’ve ever been to, a real credit to the station.
    • While there were some technical issues (tracks temporarily cutting out, mics not working at first for radio listeners, 'studio team' sometimes jumping in at quite random intervals) Party Anthems on stage seemed to work well and I sort of wonder why they haven't done it before. I guess it depends on when gates open but if gates open around 1/2pm then no excuse not to do it- it's a DJ set which they have loads of across the weekend and acts as a warm-up so the crowd are hot for the first main act.
    • They mentioned on air that it's before Joel Corry's set.
    • When is the set for Greg and Tom? I’m having trouble getting on to Insta and Google is not helping.
