Christmas is coming

All of my mum's side of the family live abroad, so unless we all meet up somewhere we'll never have a big family Christmas either. :(

I was talking to someone the other day who was moaning about babysitting for their sister, it really annoyed me as I'd love to be able to see my family all the time.

*moan over*

P.S. I agree with whoever said we shouldn't be allowed to discuss Christmas until December! I don't want to be sick of it before it even happens!!

I find Christmas a bit depressing because of the lack of daylight. I like being able to go shopping till 9pm 6 nights a week all through December though, I like shopping centres in the evening and it allows me to get out of the house.

We don't really have family over at Christmas, but my parents' friends come every year, and sometimes the neighbours come too, but probably not this year, because my parents are in a big fight with them about developing the area into flats or something (I don't really care, because most of the time I'm not there).

Sorry to be the opposite of everyone, but my Nan and Grandad are coming over here at Christmas for SEVENTEEN DAYS! I'm bley upset! I've seen them every Christmas since I was born and I know people might think I'm lucky but they're getting very annoying now. I saw them less when I lived up the road from them!

    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
    • Maia Beth is doing Friday Early Breakfast on 7th & 14th June.
    • Joel Mitchell is in for Nat on Sunday 9th June.
    • Ore Olukoga is on 13.00-16.00 on Friday 31st May and Friday 7th June.  Nikita Kanda is doing Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.
    • Very pleased for producer Amy - it's no coincidence many of the best shows in recent years have had her working on them. You can tell her & Helena are a great production duo and that the whole Matt & Mollie team are a really close-knit unit in general. Some lovely speeches by both Matt & Mollie too to end the show on Sunday.
    • Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots. A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1. Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
    • James Cusack is in for Jack on Friday 14th June, doing the chart while Jack is at Download.
    • I remember hearing Amy first on Scotts show and she was great on that, the daft quiz questions always made me smile. It's really nice to see the hard work has paid off for them all.
    • Actually the worst tends to be those who comment on Radio Today news stories. People who haven’t listened to younger oriented radio stations in years who say things like “who?” about any job going to any presenter aged younger than 50.
    • Ahhh very happy for Amy - that’s very well deserved! I didn’t hear their final show but are Matt and Mollie keeping Helena? Hopefully she might be the main producer of their new show!
    • I bet Amy and Greg are going to be fun together
    • Ah that's great for Amy. Yes I assumed she would be going back to afternoons!
    • That explains the story on Amy’s page that Helena and Amy were going their separate ways - although I was sure Helena is sometimes on R1 Breakfast sometimes
