Worst thing you've ever eaten?

What's the worse thing you've ever eaten? Eating spiders as a child, never knew any thing different - I've eaten dog and cat food as a child, and I'm sure I find it nicer than some meats and vegetables!

That reminds me, almost drowning in the bath. I didn't eat the bubble bathy water, but I swallowed it

Ive done that before with soap,(and it wasnt even Lush soap) so it didnt taste very nice:|

Mouldy mayonnaise was pretty rank. My mum refused to believe that it being 3 months out of date was a problem, but it had full-on mould in it and I ate a large mouthful before I noticed :(

Some of the things the school call food are pretty horrible too. And I once ate PVA glue as a kid... don't ask why.

I hate it when your halfway through a sandwich and you realise the bread you are eating is mouldy!

I think the worse thing I ate was an egg sandwich from school (I know I shouldn't trust school dinners) and it had half the egg shell in it!! I thought 'I'm sure egg doesn't normally crunch!'

I was eating dinner at school recently with my friend and her brother and he had one of those tortilla breads with black bits in it that were herbs or something. He said, "there's a squashed fly in my tortilla" and we all said "don't be stupid" but I had a look and there actually was a squashed fly on it... really rough.

I've found myself eating mouldy sandwiches a few times too. And frozen salad at school, lettuce should never be frozen.

Eurgh! a fly? thats bad and frozen salad? I didn't know you could freeze salad! Our school has alright dinners on a Monday but then as it gets to Thursday everything is just leftovers and normally is mouldy and stale

I eat school meals 3 times a day 5 days a week, sometimes more days than that.

They keep the salad in a chilled area in metal containers, so the stuff at the bottom freezes, and the tomato and lettuce turns to mush while the raw carrots become lethal missiles. The main meals are usually disgusting brown mush. 5 years of boarding though and I'm pretty much used to it.

Lethal missiles!! haha i like it!

I don't know how you put up with school meals, and for 5yrs!

I've always wanted to try out a boarding school for a week just to see what it was like, what is it like?

I was in Boarding School for a week,it was a seperate bit to my old school(I had no option cos my rents were in the US) I didnt like it and couldnt wait to get home.

Boarding only suits certain types of people. Some people really can't cope cos they don't like the routine and the lack of personal space and having to share TVs and things. I personally have found it's been great. I've got some great friends - as well as a lot of people I don't really like - but I get to see my friends at all hours of the day. Generally when people first start boarding they treat it like a sleepover, but it's really not like that. I'll miss boarding though. My school is within a city though, and I go home at weekends, and it's mixed. I couldn't cope being stuck in a single-sex boarding school in the middle of nowhere, it would be horrible. We can go down the shops or into town or to the beach really easily, so it's fun.

beach? I'm soooo jealous!

I see boarding school having more respectful people because you don't have any personal space. I'm just at a normal everyday school (well i say normal but its far from it) Nobody has respect for other peoples stuff, even if its a pencil, people will go out of their way to break or steal it!

I don't think i could handle a single-sex boarding school, i think you need to be friendly with the opposite sex!

Stony beach.... so it's not that glamourous. Just a nice place to walk and talk and sit when it's sunny.

Most people really don't respect others. The girl nextdoor to me is often on the phone, people play loud music late at night, leave the communal kitchen in a complete mess -- jam all over the microwave (how?!) and expect their washing up to get done for them. It's a big problem, and being a House Prefect I have become quite unpopular with the younger kids cos I have to tell them to shut up and go to bed and stop chucking water around and things. And the computers are shared so can't get on the Internet easily but people are really selfish.

I see myself as a respectful person, I am quite considerate. I spent 20 minutes cleaning out the toaster the other day, whilst everyone else just leaves it jammed.

And we have had some theft problems. Some idiots say "I left my iPod in the common room 3 days ago and it's been stolen!!" ditto wallet, phone...

Wow it doesn't seem so appealing now! I'd still prefer it than my school though, I mean its actually threatening to be closed again! The amount of times I've been abused by little kids who come up to my knee!

Sometimes I wish the rumour of people getting there heads flushed down the loo was true because I would love to flush most of the students!

    • I see Katie (and Mairead) were out with Jordan tonight.  I don’t listen to the show any longer, I am shocked they are allowed to mention Jordan.
    • At least I do not ask stupid questions…😂
    • I suggest you follow the other DJs too if so, you will learn the hardest working will go further 🤣
    • A simple check on his instagram would answer all your questions , he’s on tour with his wife and the team behind his podcast. I suggest anyone to follow the radio presenters, you will learn a lot about their other jobs and work commitments.
    • Where is Jamie? It felt like he was settling in when Vick wasn’t on but he’s not been on since last Tuesday now. They’ve not even mentioned him, in fact they’ve mentioned Jordan more than they’ve mentioned him in the last two days.
    • Scott's show is on the road next week, live from Malmö in Sweden on Wednesday and Friday, ahead of Eurovision. As he's doing the semi final coverage on the TV on Tuesday and Thursday alongside Rylan, Gary Davies sits in for him on those days.
    • I don't feel there's so much overlap between M&M and Scott's shows. M&M is of a similar calibre to Scott & Chris on R1, with genuine laugh out loud moments and usually a show packed full of real interesting content. Scott's R2 show is IMO a shadow of the stuff he did on R1 (not his fault, he's doing exactly what station management want), with music and content to appeal to a much older audience.
    • To be fair, Scott & Chris would've still been fine on Radio 1. It was mentioned at the time that Scott's move was very much on Radio 2's part rather than Radio 1 wanting to move them on. That's the one problem that Radio 2 has, trying to appeal to such a wide demographic.. it's the perfect listen for many, but equally a turn off for many others. I think they have the balance fairly right.
    • I agree Scott has always been a good standalone presenter, but always better when with someone. When chappers left the radio one show it felt a different show and Chris joining was what it needed and brought new life. for the format of the radio 2 show Scott’s show fits well with the station but again, there’s the huge gap between radio1 and 2 As been said already old radio2 listeners feel it now feels too young with latest changes, yet old radio1 listeners still feel radio 2 feels too old. The inbetween stage demographic of too old for radio 1 but too young for radio 2 is still not catered for radio 2 was left to grow old with its audience for too long and to change things up now feels to try and change a brand image the right thing to do is leave it as it is and cater for that 1.5 demographic which I’m sure the new proposed 00s and 10s station will do if approved. Problem is it’s so overdue that by the time it gets off the ground these listeners are already likely to be lost and the changing image of radio2 likely to lose what it stands for as a brand with the “it’s too young now “  moving to boom and the “ it still sounds old “ crowd not able to move with their favourite presenters like Scott so finding themself on capital a radio 1.5 would have been perfect for Scott and Chris, seems unlikely but this is why I think who branding of bbc radio needs a rethink if these new stations get off ground
    • Bank Holiday Monday Schedule 6am-10am: Arielle Free in for Greg 10am-2pm: Dean & Vicky (No Rickie, Melvin & Charlie) 2pm-6pm: Vick & Jamie (No Katie) 6pm onwards: As normal.
    • Dare I say they've sounded great this past week?  Very much gelling.  Maybe less pressure?  Seem to be having a genuinely good time and not forcing things.
    • I'm in the minority in my workplace, most of them love country music.  Me, the American, does not care for it.  That said, I haven't haaaaaated some of the country adjacent stuff that's been on the R1 playlist.
    • The Eurovision semi finals are on from 8 to 10pm on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th May with Richie Anderson. That means Sara Cox in on till 8 on those days.  Saturday 11th May is Eurovision 'Super Saturday... 1-3pm Your Ultimate Abba song with Gary Davies  3-6pm Michelle Visage's Eurovision All Stars 6-8pm Eurovision Request Party with Owain Wynn Evans 8pm Eurovision Grand Final with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark
    • It is funny because everyone thought Matt was on the way out, now he's been described as the heir to Mills.
