What if they're in Dover or somewhere completely random

That would be so sneaky - driving all the way up to Nottingham as a decoy and then going in an opposite direction.

One thing for sure, as an international listener, I've never learned more about the geography of the UK.

Nobody's suggested anywhere in Yorkshire yet. There's nothing in particular to suggest it might be but it's within a couple of hours of Nottingham.

This is going to sound ridiculous but what word have we constantly heard over the past 24 hours? A couple of... Leeds? Or am I losing the plot :D

Let's be honest: we've all lost it a while ago. And I wouldn't be surprised if it was an actual clue.

but that was a great day of radio. It'll be remembered for a very long time. You wouldn't get that on Capital.

Agree it pulled a crowd and gave listeners of Greg and Nick's shows a taste of their new presenters, nothing as monumental as the 52hr show though, but Greg may try and beat that in the future maybe

The best radio is when the whole Radio 1 Family comes together, I think! It's why I love shows when all of the DJs come on and get a bit of freedom. Non-Innuendo Bingo with Greg James during the LOLathon was one of my favourite bits of radio ever (Chris Sawyer producing again), and I even enjoyed Fearne Cotton's last show, even though I didn't particularly gravitate towards her show normally (except the Versus segments with Zane Lowe).

It's why I want Real Or No Real back! (Scott, Chris and Greg laughing about Bruce Forsyth being older than cubed ice , etc.)

I wish I could remember when those shows were, the Bruce Forsyth facts were the best, I laughed so much. Even now I can hear Scott and Greg saying "I'm older than ice" and "I'm the first person on TV".

  • 5 weeks later...

I'm just listening back to the Hide and Seek show from the 17th July, and I've noticed something very, very interesting...

After six, when Greg hits the 10 Minute Takeover jingle, he accidentally pressed something else at the same time - and a second or so of Lost and Not Found by Chase and Status played. Then, he did the usual 10 Minute Takeover jingle, and played the 30 second timer, to reveal that the first song on the Ten Minute Takeover would be...

Lost and Not Found by Chase and Status.

Amazing how it was already cued up before it was even requested!

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
