Grow up?? You told me to grow up?? Did you read my post? I said it wasn't out of spite at Radio 1. Like Stig said above.. I'm a Chris Moyles fan more than a Radio 1 fan too. I would have no insentive to listen to radio 1 if Chris left! I've listened to him since 1998 on Radio 1, and other than Chris, and Scott, I really cant take to much of the schedule!

Telling me to grow up... cant believe you sometimes. Maybe you should read the post properly first!

You cannot argue that at all.

It's rather obvious they want to put Coxy in the breakfast slot a second time,

Is it!?

Seems that way to me, they seem to be giving her a massive push at the moment and have people acting as if she's best thing since sliced bread etc, why would they be doing that unless they wanted to promote her further... they obviously forgot the huge fail that was her on the Breakfast show previously, but whatever the powers that be think must be right in it's infinite wisdom...

I don't think for a minute she'll get breakfast but I, as someone who didn't like her previously on breakfast would welcome it. She has undergone a huge transformation since then and sounds like a totally different person. And John yes it is a good thing, I was supporting you after Viv's tirade!

I did. I was just horrified by it. Zoning in on one Presenter is just ridiculous, IMO.

I've always viewed R1 as a package (the best way of viewing it), from Surgery/medical programmes, to the request show, to Saturday shows, to Edith and her movies... it's the best way of viewing things.... everyone (presenters) are gonna move on. At least, unlike you, I'm never gonna put myself in the position where I have to cast the whole station into the river, because my favourite presenter leaves!! *

* not a rant (honest).

THE Radio One breakfast show is to be hosted by a six month old baby, the BBC has confirmed.

Jack also goes through fewer nappies

Corporation executives wanted to replace current presenter Chris Moyles with someone younger, but have taken almost a year to find a candidate who did not make the veteran DJ seem like an idiot foetus.

A BBC spokesman said: "We brought in some people in their twenties, but they were far, far, far, far more emotionally and intellectually mature than Chris Moyles. They may as well have been in their mid-seventies.

"So then we auditioned some teenagers who do nothing but sit around all day playing Grand Theft Auto and fiddling with their genitals. But again, they had so much intelligence and wisdom compared to Chris Moyles. It was as if they were a different species.

"Then we tried a 10 year-old boy who picks his arse and then eats it and likes to torture bees. He told us that amongst his age group, Chris Moyles is regarded as pathetically asinine.

"We then went through a series of progressively younger children, all to no avail. There was a two year-old who seemed to have a similar sense of humour to Chris Moyles, but unfortunately she was no-where near as self-absorbed and petulant.

"Anyway, last week we finally cracked it. Jack has just turned six months old and loves wallowing in his own faeces and is tremendously amused by his feet.

"His presenting style involves hitting the microphone over and over and over again, screaming at the top of his lungs for no reason whatsoever and then enthusiastically shitting himself.

"Developmentally we reckon he's about 20 minutes behind Chris Moyles. So, mission accomplished."

Moyles will leave the BBC at end of the month and is expected to become the new director of programmes at Channel Four.

    • Bank Holiday Monday Schedule 6am-10am: Arielle Free in for Greg 10am-2pm: Dean & Vicky (No Rickie, Melvin & Charlie) 2pm-6pm: Vick & Jamie (No Katie) 6pm onwards: As normal.
    • Dare I say they've sounded great this past week?  Very much gelling.  Maybe less pressure?  Seem to be having a genuinely good time and not forcing things.
    • I'm in the minority in my workplace, most of them love country music.  Me, the American, does not care for it.  That said, I haven't haaaaaated some of the country adjacent stuff that's been on the R1 playlist.
    • The Eurovision semi finals are on from 8 to 10pm on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th May with Richie Anderson. That means Sara Cox in on till 8 on those days.  Saturday 11th May is Eurovision 'Super Saturday... 1-3pm Your Ultimate Abba song with Gary Davies  3-6pm Michelle Visage's Eurovision All Stars 6-8pm Eurovision Request Party with Owain Wynn Evans 8pm Eurovision Grand Final with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark
    • It is funny because everyone thought Matt was on the way out, now he's been described as the heir to Mills.
    • Some similar names to Big Weekend.  Sabrina Carpenter, David Guetta, Perrie, Bradley Simpson, Jax Jones, Caity Baser, Benson Boone, Rudimental. David Guetta is a good name.
    • Still Scott for me. I'm not too much into the 70s and 80s radio 2 play but do love the injection of 90s and 00s. Then Radio 2 push for all this country stuff and it not a UK thing, and I frankly don't like it. Scott's show as in features, hit and miss. I like the music police bit, but it feels like someone needs to join him. It's a shame Chappers is so busy with sports, as it feels like it could do with someone like him jumping on to help. Or a new partner. Radio 1, take or leave. Matt and Mollie are OK from what I've heard and share a good connection, but it's the playlist that throws me off. They could bring back Chris Moyles to do that show, but as soon as something like Headie One comes on with that casino keyboard produced crap. It would still be switched off from me.
    • Reading through this thread, I don't feel quite so alone now, in thinking that Scott Mills on R2 is not a good 'fit' (even less so than on R5).  I can't quite explain why this is so - I just know it to be so.
    • Arielle has been on holiday for the last 2 weeks getting married / honeymoon.  It'll be live from this week onwards.
    • CassKidd is in for Sian on Sunday 5th May.
    • The brought to tiers feature was also very good from them. I did wonder which DJ's were going to get picked out of the hat, that could have gone one way or the other and the caller said they were very opinionated lol. Correct decision putting katie in god tier!
    • The extended Dua Lipa track from M&M was very funny. I'm hoping Matt and Mollie and Scott have a good relationship a bit like Greg and Zoe collaborate on-air sometimes.
    • Gary Davies in for Vernon Kay tomorrow (Monday 29th April).
    • When Scott and Chris announced their departure from R1, I remember there was lots of speculation about who would take over the 1pm slot. Matt and Mollie were talked about a lot on here, and at the time I really didn't rate them as a replacement. A few years on, I see that I was totally wrong. They are such a good pairing, and it's the same kind of duo as Scott and Chris, in that they are real life friends, who spend time together in their real lives, which really does come across on air. True friends having a laugh together, and everyone is invited is how it feels to me now. I never thought about it before, but I agree with @coffeeandgin that Mollie is the Scott of the duo - pop obsessed and maybe a litte ditsy, but so funny, and in need of someone to anchor to or bounce off.  It seems that Matt is the kind of Chris of the duo then in that comparison, the one with the ideas, but also needs another person to make the magic happen. I know I'm outside of the R1 demographic, and maybe Dean and Vicky were meant to be younger and fresher, but I'm sure in my younger years I would have preferred to listen to two people who had a genuine connection and could really make each other laugh, as well as have the listeners laugh along. That was the Scott and Chris factor for me, and I think the only pair that come close to that now are Matt and Mollie.
