  1. So has Moyles denied the rumours on his show out of interest. I rarely listen to him much now days. But I know previously he has addressed media articles publicly on the air. If he's not talking than it makes you think that something could be up!
  2. I'm very happy to see Evans do so well in the latest RAJAR report. He had very big shoes to fill taking over from Sir Terry Wogan, and I actually feel he's a better listen to than Moyles, although I apreciate people enjoy his show and I'm happy to see him also up on the last results. One area I'm a bit WTF about is how Fearne is only up 250,000 listeners, while Greg James is up 500,000 listeners. Cotton is fantastic in her role as mid morning presenter of the station. She's funny and has a very bubbly personality, and very easy to listen to in the background. The same can't be said for Greg James who is better suited for comercial radio, sorry not a fan. Although I only listen to the first hour of his show and than its over to Steve Wright in the Afternoon. Yes most of my radio listening is split between Radio 1 and 2 now days. Good result for Scott however, especially with this being the first results out without Chappers around, who was a massive part of the show. Prefered the show with Mark, but still a good result for Scott and Beccy who has taken on a bigger on air role as of late.
  3. Personally I think Fearne is great on Radio 1, she gets a hard time on boards like this, but so did Jo Whiley back in the day. Out of all the regular DJ's I would pick her as the one that I enjoy listening to the most. Yes I admit she talks a lot of crap, but its amusing banter, that doesn't come across as desperate for laugh's, like it often does when it comes to Chris Moyles, Scott Mills or Greg James.
  4. So listening to Scott tonight for the first time since Chappers departure and I felt the show was rather poor. Same tired features and the banter between Scott and Beccy is alright but rarely provides any true comedy moments, like with Scott and Chappers. Its the first time I've listen to the show this year, but from just tonight's show I'm kind of disapointed. Was tonight's show just a one off or is this now how the show sounds without Chappers. Noticing also Scott is relying a lot more on audience interaction than previously. Feel free to agree or disagree but I think the show is really missing Chappers and needs to fill that gap !
  5. Radio 2 raised over £2,000,000 last year for Children in Need by doing a money can't buy auction and taking Listeners request. I think people are being a bit harsh on Terry Wogan here while he is paid a standard fee for presenting the show he has stated he'll be happy to do it for free and him being paid for the show is a decision made by the BBC. Terry may have a good point about these celebs, but personally I tend to favour Comic Relief too as atleast most of the money goes to Africa which at times really need the money.
  6. Its certainly an interesting topic, and it brings me back to a recent radio interview Chris Moyles did with Steve Wright on Radio 2 where he refered to himself as a person who does Radio for kids. I'm 27 and I've come to a crossroad where I don't know if I still should be listening to Radio 1 or 2. Both provide some good radio at times, but at other times, especially at Weekends I feel neither station appeals to me. And I think what we need is a station between Radio 1 and 2 where the audience can go, and it would also give the likes of Mills and Moyles a new platform to present Radio aimed at there age group. DAB Radio has never really caught on, but if the BBC were to introduce a new station aimed at the 25-45 age group with these big names at the helm it would be a big suscess as currently a station like this is needed. At the moment Radio 1 is very confused and perhaps it is time to let the likes of Greg and Fearne and Reggie to take on bigger roles at the station.
  7. Chris and Sir Terry are in my view under paid when you look at how many viewers both shows pull in and compare it to what some London based DJ's are currently earning to do the same job but with a much smaller audience.

I'm hoping for Moyles to continue to drop listeners as while he's the right man to present the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, the current format is begining to sound very tired and he needs a serious wake up call. As for the rest of the Station, I'm hoping the figures stay strong as everyone has done a very good job lately, especially Sara Cox, who has suprised me as I never use to rate her as a DJ. The music is rather good on Absolute, its the Jingles and the DJ's which make it a crap station, except for the excellent Geoff Lloyd.
  9. Just a quick reminder that both Scott and Sara Cox will be presenting the backstage part of the National Television Awards on ITV 2 tonight from 10.00 pm.
  10. With the recent BBC controversy over the prank calls made by Radio 2 presenters Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross to actor Andrew Sachs, its got me thinking about how this could impact other BBC Radio Shows like Scott Mills show. Scott has been making prank calls on people for years and its a big part of his regular drivetime show. But with the recent controversy its got me thinking if Management will request changes to be made to the shows format as a way to not upset any viewers who may still be still sensitive over the recent controversy. Calling the likes of Barry Chuckle pretending to be a stalker is in my opinion light hearted comedy that shouldn't be taken too seriously, but I do wonder how many people will now take offense to these prank calls and will Scott or the Producers want to risk offending people.
  11. The article actually jokes that Scott was the second choice, the organises actually wanted the Panda from Panda Cam.
  12. Hi this is my first post on here, I just wanted to let you know that Scott has made the front page of Guernsey's Daily News Paper the Guernsey Press. The title of the article reads out Will Radio 1's Scott bring Christmas joy? And it features a picture of the man himself, the article discuses an on air response he made to an invite to turn on Guernsey's Tree of Joy.
