I love The X Factor. After all, anyone remember where Jedward started out? Now they have two number one singles, a number one album, a sold out world tour, their own prime time, successful television programme, and celebrity fans getting tattoos of them! (Well, Wayne Rooney's cousin..)

Btw, interested: did anyone here watch Jedward: Let Loose on Tuesday? If not, remember, TUESDAY, 9PM, ITV2.

*Listening to Scott Mills Podcast. Woo! Andy Mac's second email was read out. Big up Unofficial Mills. Aww.*

The final 12 have been revealed! This is where is all starts.

Boys:

Aiden Grimshaw. (My favourite to win.)

Nicolo (Meh. I don't like. He's Italian an seemingly gay though.)

Matt (I think I like?)

Groups:

F.Y.D (I like..)

One Direction (They'll go far in the competion, I reckon)

Bellamie (Girl groups are always out the first week, but this might be a different story? Second week.)

Girls:

Rebecca (Who?)

Cher (She's been talked about quite a lot...)

Katie (Hmm..)

Over 28's:

John? (He'll be out in the first few weeks.)

Storm Lee (" ")

Mary (Ditto.)

Your opinions?

Not quite... Leona Lewis have both done really well Alexandra Burke, granted some winners are unheard of now. Even non winners are doing well, like JLS. You don't have to like this acts, but their success isn't somethng that can be denied.

why don't they have a round were they all have to come up with an amazing new original song of any genre of music that people would like to hear. Instead of getting some multi-million £ songwriter that just writes music for fabricated artists that don't really care about the music.

Come on Nicolo Festa!

Bit gutted about Gamu and that amazing black guy, but meh. Lets face it, X Factor just completely exploit contestants anyway. Those 3 though are just about the only auditions I've seen, I doubt I'll be watching it this year. Just want Nicolo to do well :)

That's very few examples out of the many these shows have spawned though. Of course there are going to be some cattle viewing that will just buy anything Cowell tells them to so I would contest the 'success' being down to that in some of these cases.

No, it's a money-making con that Cowell benefits massively from while he screws over almost everyone else involved. Maybe if it didn't cost the public to vote etc, the autotune and crap wouldn't be a problem...

Don't blame Cowell, its ITV that put the show on their channel. If people are willing to go on tv and make a tit of themselves then I don't really think they have a leg to stand on when it comes to complaining about being screwed over

Well it's not like X-craptor's ever been about getting good singers is it, otherwise how can they use autotune and call it a 'singing' contest? Heard some reviewers on 5Live earlier (including Boyd Hilton, someone I never thought I'd see eye-to-eye with) who said it's NOT about being a good singer and never has been, it's about who Cowell thinks he can package to the masses.

i do appreciate good music when it made by a band or artist that put a lot of effort and talent into making the song.

not just winning a show and having a rubbish song that gets a lot of publicity because of the show and creates a mood that instead of learning an instrument and working hard to get it played on radio you can win a show and have an instant hit song.

Another point, learn to p-

You're entitled to your opinion, I suppose. I'm not going to get in an argument about it or anything.

Wow the Daily Fail are REALLY failing particularly hard this month, eh?

X Factor hopefuls 1 Direction recreate iconic Abbey Road image outside recording studio
Err, NO, they're just crossing the road? First the 2 Moyles story including the Mystery Woman (sports presenter on his show) and now they're directing away from Moyles for a whole day

Being on X-Factor, they're probably not even aware of The Beatles, never mind that that pic resembles one of the most iconic album covers of all time.

I reckon they will live up to the name though, and head in 1 Direction - the dole queue.

    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
    • I heard something about what is your favourite wood? Wtf 😂
    • Was the same vibe on the Easter Monday show they did too. Just random questions and the like…. Katie is definitely the glue around making the show listenable.
    • Vick and Jamie together are quite… awkward. Random discussion seems to be at an all time high without Katie. Maybe it’s just that there’s a lack of features today.
    • Jamie not even knowing about the big weekend day and the fact he starts the show at 14:00 just says everything.
    • I still haven’t forgiven Radio 1 for signing Laing. Vick and Jordan was good, you could hear the chemistry on air
    • I just want to add though that I am beginning to enjoy the show a bit more now that it’s settled in - I think Jamie (when he’s there) has calmed down a bit and then the new features that have been progressively added over the last couple of weeks have been good too.    I still don’t think it’s a patch on Vick and Jordan together, but it is now a show that seems like it could have legs into the future and once Matt and Mollie start in July, I could see myself sticking with R1 all afternoon.
    • I think it’s a slimmer line-up and seems to fall short in previous years where it seemed almost double that I know Raye is booked to perform and is a headline name. I think the issue with a station like capital they are dealing with a rather lacklustre year for pop and theres no real big pulls for pop festivals that are an easy sell out right now. I think Capital has had seen it’s Capital Ball’s as for any generic pop music listener I don’t know whether Bradley Simpson, Aitch and Paul Russel have the universality to play in a stadium even Sugababes think it would be better if they chosen a smaller outdoor location or Wembley arena.
