To be fair, the trio of Jordan, Chris and Sian works really well I think. I don't listen live but I always catch the podcast and it is a really fun listen. I prefer what they are doing there to any of Jordan's R1 shows that I heard, but that may be because I have always been a big fan of Chris - he always had such a creative mind on R1 and I suppose now over there they have the budget to make some of the ideas a reality. Sian is great too, I have so much admiration for how she juggles her job with being a mum and making it look so effortless while at the same time being so honest about the reality of it. I hope they can carry on doing what they are doing for a long time to come. I don't think I ever caught much of the show before Roman left, but I imagine Jordan coming in has given it a more down-to-earth, slightly unpredictable, chaotic vibe where you get the polished finish of a commercial show but still get the edge of the wheels falling off every now and again. Which Chris and Sian are fully involved in too. -

They've talked about it a few times on the Capital Breakfast podcast, recently too. I had always assumed it was Scott's wedding, but timing wise I don't think that adds up, and it was mainly Sam's anniversary post this week that made me realise that. If their wedding was in June 2024, Jordan left Radio 1 in February 2024 so it must have been a different wedding. Maybe Vick and Calvin would suit the time better as that was in September 2023. On the podcast, they said it was a crazy wedding where nobody was allowed their phones or to post anything to social media. -

Jordan North has spoken to The i about his move from Radio 1 to Capital, revealing that he was first approached about the role at a wedding. At the time, Capital Breakfast was hosted by Chris Stark, Sian Welby and Roman Kemp. North recalled: "Chris pulled me aside and told me Roman was leaving, and said, 'I think you should come over.'" He said: "When I was at the old place, we always had one eye on it." He then compared Capital to a football team on the rise: "It was like they were Man City, in that they were up and coming, then dominating things, and everyone was copying their style." And added: "I remember tuning in and thinking, 'These guys know what they're doing.'" Two years on, Jordan says he has "absolutely no regrets" about leaving the BBC and joining Capital, where he cites the "genuine friendship" between himself, Chris Stark and Sian Welby as a major reason for enjoying the show. He also addressed the BBC's recent controversies, admitting there was some relief in moving away from the spotlight surrounding the corporation: "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't." However, he was quick to defend his former employer: "I'll always defend the BBC to the hilt. I think we need a strong BBC for everyone." Jordan added that while the scrutiny could be intense, he understands the challenges facing the corporation: "Having been there, I know you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. But yeah, I'm glad to be out of that scrutiny." Elsewhere in the interview, he spoke about his friendship with Chris Stark and Sian Welby, his occasional struggles with a low "social battery", and his belief that radio needs more working-class voices on air. -

The whole situation has probably left some of it's top stars thinking should I bother sticking around? If Scott has been sacked and maybe worse erased from memory why would you carry on being so loyal to them? Hence Zoe Ball moving on(even though she must be near the end of a contract?) I'd love him to clear his name ASAP and get back soon. In my opinion the BBC need to buck their ideas up and fast! -
The simple answer is 'no'. There were so many people who either knew about Saville or had suspicions that as soon as there was a case being worked, there was nothing good said about him. This situation is so very different. Sadly the reaction of your family member is the issue here that the BBC have seized upon to - seemingly - sack him rather prematurely. Like many others, I hope he gets a chance to clear his name fully and rebuild his career somehow. Ideally with a decent BBC apology along the way! -
I said that to a family member and they said so did people come out and support Saville until the truth came out so can’t be sure -

Thank you for sharing - that's really interesting to read, and I'm glad that there is so much support for Scott out there in public from his friends and colleagues. I suppose up until now we have been reading into them saying 'love you bye' on air, and Rylan's comments on his Assembly episode, but there has been nothing for anyone to comment on until the anniversary post. I can't help thinking that Jeremy Vine was the first one to offer a glimmer of support, in the first week of this happening. Scott was a topic on his radio show and his TV show, and I remember thinking at the time that Jeremy seemed to be in Scott's corner, cautiously at least. Maybe other people took his quiet lead on it and felt empowered enough to not be completely silent on the matter. It's lovely to see that they are not afraid to support him - that people care for him and are backing him. If anything though, that makes it all the more sad, because it's pointing in the direction that his sacking was unjustified, and his career stopped in it's tracks for no good reason. My gut feeling is that this many people don't put their own name out in public to support someone if there is any doubt that they are a good person. -
Have to imagine they thought a bigger scandal was coming. Ie, Seville, Edwards etc and cut him out before it happened. BBC can't afford another child sex scandal and probably lesser of 2 evils for them to fire Scott early and pay compensation later and say sorry
