New singing 1tros

Very nice. Well, people on here were saying that 1tros needed a bit of a shakeup, and it's better this than them adding 3 notes for BBC...

You can also slightly hear it at 1:05 in this: http://www.music4.com/musicservices/catalogue/625/bbc-radio-1/1tros-october-2009.html

Not as strong, but clearly it's Radio 1 being sung.

They've not massively made it a sung, they had just followed the vocoded voice within the song.

Can't seem them doing it very often. I'm quite glad Radio 1 has toned down the amount of 1tros they use, they where getting played too often at one point.

The the Music 4 Montage VOs are the old R1 VOs (i.e. Jody latham & the old lady (forgot her name!))

i just think Music 4 aren't bothered about changing them as it isn't really beneficial for them, the old ones do the job.

Becky Whitcroft I think. It's something like that anyway!

thats the one! Yeah they were getting slightly monotonous every half hour. Lie the new versions of them though, i personally think they will change all the time to the sung ones but maybe not use them as much as they have in the past

I doubt they'll use them full time. In the two examples they've used it for, it's because it fits in well with the song.

I think it's a bit weird they've gone from promoting 'BBC Radio 1' to creating new 1tros with just 'Radio 1' in it. But I rather like them so I'm not complaining.

A very small amount of 1tros have alternative versions created so its up to the station sound team to decide which ones to use. For example 'Good Girls Go Bad' and 'Watcha Say' has a sung version and a version minus vox. I think the ones used so far fit well with the song, and lets face it the sonic logo of ray-de-oh-one is far more catchy and memorable than if BBC was tagged on the front. The jingle tune has been around for almost 13 years now as it first aired in some imaging in 1997, so its pretty well established. If it aint broke, don't fix it!

they haven't made new ones. They've just put sung the current ones.

Yes but it's still a different direction whereas I assumed they wouldn't after adding 'BBC' into the name.

It's actually nothing new. They used some auto tune 1tros in June 2008:
