A very small amount of 1tros have alternative versions created so its up to the station sound team to decide which ones to use. For example 'Good Girls Go Bad' and 'Watcha Say' has a sung version and a version minus vox. I think the ones used so far fit well with the song, and lets face it the sonic logo of ray-de-oh-one is far more catchy and memorable than if BBC was tagged on the front. The jingle tune has been around for almost 13 years now as it first aired in some imaging in 1997, so its pretty well established. If it aint broke, don't fix it!

Radcliffe would kill the slot, he doesn't suit a non music station. My bets are on Richard Bacon moving to Mayo's slot, or maybe even Derbyshire's Phone In as I hear shes had a few 'issues' with management as of late with taking away the crown of the mid morning phone in and giving it to Nicky Campbell.

V-The Production Library is now owned by Non Stop Music, as Music4 sold it off... so the only connection to Music4 now is the same composers.

Newsbeats suffering from technical difficulties upstairs, i imagine lines going down, computers and servers crashing. The 5.45 bulletin was just a short 3min format, but when Greg handed over to Sam - instead of headlines she mentioned newsbeat are suffering from technical problems, and therefore cant bring the normal programme. Maybe the facebook/twitter hack has got into the Radio 1 computers!

How do you define 'old school djs', you referring to DJs at Radio 1 from the past decade of Parf Daddy's era, or DJ's who are actual DJ's and not just TV personalities such as Fearne and Grimmy? If the latter, I'm sure there will be many more true 'old school style' DJ's to join Radio 1 and present the breakfast show, regardless of demographic targets. They're probably just budding on student radio or community stations somewhere!

Are you insane?! Grimshaw doing Changing Tracks just then, just shows he isnt made for daytime radio. He had no sincerity about him, and his voice grates me I'm afraid to say.

I imagine Nick Grimshaw will - unfortunately - become cover for Scott, especially as he's in for Cox who's in for Whiley today. Great news for Greg, will be great to hear more of him, as for Fearne, never really been a fan of hers, but we shall see show it pans out.

You heard it here first! Yep BBC is replacing 'National' Radio 1 in the sweepers. My only issue is that the new guy sounds very... camp? compared to Latham!

Holly remains as female voice. The new male voice is very commercial radio, so hardly 'stands out' from competitors.

BBC Radio 1 are updating their station sound from next week. Already hinted at by Becky when talking about an email about the Podcast stagers, Jody Latham has been replaced by a new male v/o. Shes currently reporting on todays lead story regarding the pirate bay on Newsbeat. I know its been briefly mentioned here http://www.unofficialmills.co.uk/communities/showthread.php?t=8594&page=4 but just wondering if she will front Newsbeat and take over from Tulip, although I rather like Tulip at the moment!

What an awful feature, bring back camp man, Your Call, One Night with Becky or even better Oh What's Occurring, but a retake on The Big Fact Hunt is just cheap, not entertaining, and ages quicker than the rest of the various feature.

I'm not complaining! Just saying you can hear the transition of fading out of the onetro [before the voiceover kicks in] into the actual song in some of the tracks, so I assume this is the case.
