Fearne Cotton has blasted TV critics for suggesting that she is "famous for doing nothing".

Writing on her Twitter account, the 28-year-old presenter, who recently landed a new ITV2 show titled Fearne And..., said that those making negative comments about her are "bitter" and "angry".

"Tv critics are such odd people. It must feel awful to be so bitter and angry every day," she wrote. "Apparently im famous for doing nothing...although ive been tv presenting for 13 years. They're famous for slagging people off! NICE."

She later celebrated the first of her ITV2 shows, which featured Paris Hilton, saying: "Anyway im in a great mood. So glad the show went down well last night! AND its FRIDAY! Lets DO this!!!"

most of the tv critics are bitter wankers because they are not on tv themselves due to them being talentless & it make them feel better when they write nasty pieces about others on tv, if those tv critics are so fucking good why are they not on tv ???

That's not how it works. If Simon Cowell is so good why isn't he an international popstar?

Simon is more interested in making money & is a business man, not a critic as he knows what people what to hear, or think they want to hear, people can be very easily manipulated.

Spice Girls were put together, manufactured as are many of Simon's acts, just throwaway pop-crap here today & gone tomorrow, real talent will always shine through, & real talent last's a lifetime !

Simon doesn't pick the person/band who can sing the best (makes no difference if you can sing or not, just push a few buttons & anyone can sound good) what Simon does is pick who has the most commercial marketability, its nothing to do with any musical talent or vocal talent, yes he got lucky with Subo ?sp & that other opera bloke but if they had wanted to sing for a living they could have done it without Simon but with him it's just quicker.

what he should do next time is spoof everyone & have someone crap, get the public behind them, then pick them as the winner then flog everyone the album at then go on to say just how easy it is to manipulate everyone with one big fake.

some critic like Ally Ross isn't going to make me watch a tv show or turn one off because he doesn't like it, i have a mind of my own, thus i don't need some prick telling me what i should & shouldn't watch, in the paper today/yesterday he was on about Strictly being delayed by the F1  z-listers dancing to advance their failing careers or some sportsmen risking their lives at 200mph, Oooooo thats a tough choice !

I'm not a chef but I know when a meal tastes like shit, and my opinion on a big enough platform could spark debate in either defense or opposition to it. Which is great for that platform.

Herein lies how critics work.

A lot of love from The Mirror

Thursday night, 10.35pm… and why is this terrible person allowed to be on the telly?

I’m all for free speech – but this really is a disgrace.

I refer, of course, to fab Fearne Cotton, the unacceptable face of any show she’s ever on.

Regardless of her unforgivably brainless antics covering the Brits, pop’s bland bombshell has landed her own scintillating new series. Called Fearne And... er … what’s the point?

Filling 60 empty minutes of ITV2’s ongoing void, Fearne And... Paris Hilton was not, sadly, a programme that did a whole lot to shatter the image of the blonde bimbo stereotype.

But gee thanks for the tour of Paris’s appallingly decorated Hollywood home… so soon after exactly the same tour on ITV2’s similarly uplifting Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend.

Easily impressed Fearne was lost in wonder as personality-free Paris revealed how to be a celebrity with no talent.

As if she didn’t already know.

“It’s like Paris has forgotten we’re making a documentary,” drooled hard-hitting Ms Cotton.

“And to be honest, so have I.”

love that bit :giggle: must be jealous about Paris getting paid $100,000 for turning up at a party or earning a couple of million dollars with her product line !

Kevin O'Sullivan however was probably wanking himself silly whilst watching the show, i mean why watch something to just moan about it,

go & get a proper job !

    • I think this year has taught us we know nothing 🙂 Nobody would ever have credibly predicted Jordan leaving and all the changes that followed.   I have another interest outside radio and it is exactly the same - the stuff you never expect to happen is exactly what does.
    • Yeah they make the weekend shifts go so much quicker. Like today, the piece about Matt falling asleep in the cafe was funny, it's clear to see why they're going to weekdays. It could well be they were thinking of Danny for it and like you say have decided against that, or like I said at the start it's James Cusack and the slow down on the announcement is him getting out of his contract. Remember he works for radio 1's main rivals. I think it's quite telling that he's doing more r1 cover than usual, tomorrow and then a further 3 weekend shows in a row
    • Nat in for Dean with Vicky between the 28th-30th May.
    • I suspect they’re gonna tie the announcement into something, or they’ve changed plans. I know we’ve said it as a joke but I wonder if Aled was planning on giving it to someone like Danny Beard, but he’s decided against that after the last few weeks. Seems clear to me, though, that if Jordan hadn’t left, then Katie would’ve taken Dean and Vicky’s slot and Matt and Mollie would’ve stayed on weekends, which probably explains why they haven’t picked a replacement yet. If it was going to be the obvious choice, I.e. James Cusack, surely they would’ve announced it by now..?
    • Yep think they mentioned that this is their penultimate weekend of shows but then they will also be on air during Big Weekend and they mentioned they'll be doing 'Party Anthems' on stage during Big Weekend which sounds intriguing. Will miss Matt & Mollie on weekends - they in particular have made that Friday afternoon slot their own - but they'll be great on weekdays. Do wonder if 'Summer on Radio 1' is just a placeholder name until they decide on who will cover the interim. While it's obviously not the case it does feel like they've forgotten there's that weekend afternoon slot to fill given no permenant presenter has been announced for it yet.
    • Zoe Ball is back on the breakfast show on Monday.
    • Just listening to matt and mollie at work and heard them say it's their second to last show on weekends
    • And Arielle mentioned in her Instagram post that her final early breakfast show is the 27th of June - the Thursday before Glastonbury
    • When Matt covered breakfast on 22nd April, he said their new show was starting in 10 weeks, so that’d be the 1st July.
    • Would love for it to be like the Summer Friday Thing that me and @DC were remisincing about recently. Lots of events going on that could easily form part of it.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/summer/cardiff/thursday/1.shtml
    • I'm guessing there is also a stack of weekend events like Glastonbury
    • I think more likely it'll just be a temp presenter for weekends 1-4 to give Matt & Mollie time off, plus time to plan and pilot the new show.
    • Yeah I don’t think they’ll be anything that drastic - maybe a week or 2 of cover on early breakfast etc, but maybe just having that weekend afternoon slot covered over the summer means they can put someone on from September who maybe isn’t available until then?
    • But they said the main changes would happen in July.
