Can't wait 'til December so I can get my decorations up and have some Christmas fun!!

Me neither, but I'm patient enough to wait - I don't play christmas songs yet (well, I may have played one or two a month ago - but that was only to annoy my parents. and I may have played some on the piano this Sunday, but again, only to annoy the others...)

But the first of December - or the first advent Sunday (30.11, I think) - I'm ready with the decorations.

I love Britt Bendixen off the Danish strictly. She hates to criticize the contestants, and she's always like "You made a lot of mistakes, but you're such a cute couple and your dress is beautiful". And even if she gives really bad grades, like 2, she says it with a big smile :D

I'll be up all night on the 30th, waiting for that second when it becomes the 1st of December, and away I'll be!! Tree up, decorations everywhere, music going, everything!!

And the cards'll be written later that day, and any shopping I may have already done will also be wrapped that day too. Any shopping I'll have left to do will be done bit-by-bit though so it keeps the Christmas flowing and full of fun!!

I get to buy my tree in two weeks and I can't wait!!

Haha, amazing.

Last year I went to Aarhus on the 30th, and on the way home we listened to the Now Christmas CD I had just bought. When we reached the border, we stopped because my mum had to get over in her own car (we had picked her up from work and gone in my dad's car from there). We turned off the CD and they were playing Last Christmas on the radio. It turned it was exactly midnight and the radio now felt they could play Christmas songs as well.

Talking about book signings... I was absolutely gutted I left Scotland on the day Alan Carr was signing in Waterstone's. I'd have loved to meet him in person :D

Aww, awesome!!

I have almost 200 Christmas songs on my computer (gonna find some more if I can) and I randomly decide I feel like playing a song or two - which then turns into an hour or two worth of them instead. XD

I get really bouncy and excited when I hear Christmas music or see Christmas decorations. Hehe!!

This Record of the Week is a snorefest :bored:

What?! I think it's such a feel-good song.

8th of December? I thought the UK were faster than us when it comes to discovering new music, but I've owned the single (and the album) for months now...

Hello. I've had a crap day, drank too much, not enough sleep and too much work. Tucked up in bed with the radio on and a cup of tea and some porridge now.

Chappers had better get some new pyjamas, don't want another wardrobe malfunction!

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
