Likelihood of having a weekly Scott Mills podcast?

I know this isn't the right place for it, but I've got to say, despite the lack of features, I find the Moyles podcast far more entertaining than Mills. There's probably 5 minutes of every podcast that's actually interesting/funny enough in the Mills ones, whereas Moyles is consistently great.

I dunno, I just feel like I'm wasting my time listening to a lot of the rubbish features Scott has on and feel it'd be better condensed. I'm almost at the stage now where I'm considering not listening to him at all, 'cos it's just too much.

Edit: Apologies, it sounds like I'm having a go at Mills and I'm not. I do enjoy listening to him and like I said, at times find the show very, very funny.

I find the Moyles Podcast thoroughly boring most of the time now, those daily ones he did last week were the best in a long while.

the thing with mills' podcasts are that there that it's so much Scott, and all the features I enjoy an awful lot more. I guess I just find Scott more easier to listen to these days, much more than Chris. so no, Scott needs to stay Daily for now, at least until his creativity dries up :D

I don't think the Moyles podcast does the show justice. I find it quite dull and full of guests - or it was last time I listened. It's not the stuff I want to listen again to. I'd rather hear the parodies and slip-ups and random links that you hear in the trails most days.

The Mills podcast can be a bit too long at times but there's nothing stopping you skip through it. It also appears to have been very popular in the iTunes charts over the past year or two. During breakfast I find it great that it contains so much I don't need to listen again.

The only downside is the turn around time. I'm too impatient!

Scotts daily podcast are great. If you dont have time to listen again to the show but wanna hear what you missed they are a good listen too. Sometimes they can be long but that shows that scott has a lot more product to put in it. If he did a weekly one a lot of the good stuff would get missed of.

I find moyles pdcasts quite boring, they never put the good stuff in it, and i hate how it seems so put together. Atleast with scotts its just clipped from the show. It seems like the stuff on moyles podcast has been planned out at the start of the week.

I shove my Moyles podcasts aside until theres really nothing more interesting... Theres not much on them at all... which is shocking when its a weeks worth!

I love Scotts Daily ones, and they are entertaining so long as you keep up with whats been happening, otherwise some of the things will be lost on you.

Keep it Daily! There would be far far too much for a weekly one, and we'd end up loosing all the great bits

I completely agree, they are the perfect length for me. I like listening to them when I'm out walking the dog. Never listened to a Moyles podcast so I couldn't comment on them.

Neither have I, I hear he is over-rated anyway.

I think they should stick with the Scott Mills daily but I have to agree that while i listen to Moyles at work every day before we open, the podcast can be very boring at times. While I know its a "best of" not everything seems to run in a daily order, cos instance I could be listening and think I remember hearing this on wednesday, the next minute later its something somebody aid on the monday. Maybe its just me but I find this very frustrating

Oh and I also like how they still had a podcast of the day Scott was off and Greg filled in, never noticed them doing that before but I think its a great idea.

Now if only I could find a website with a SM podcast archive, I found a Moyles 1 not that long ago with pocasts going back a few years

Not impressed with censorship

that took me surprise actually, normally when Scott pulls a sickie, we tend to have to wait for his return. Still, hearing Greg was a nice change for once...

i think scott's ones are to much at the moment, they should either be shorter like they were at the start of just do a long one once a week, i get the scott ones as i subscribe to them but i mostly just delete them as i don't have the time to listen to them all the time.

Stick em on your mp3 player and take them to school/work

  • 3 weeks later...

I know I'm reviving this thread by posting, but wanted to stick my two cents in. I like the fact that Mills is every day. I need my dose of Oh, Whats occuring? and various other bits to sometimes get me through the work day. Very few of the podcasts I tune in to are daily. And unlike most of the posters on this thread, I like Moyle's podcasts just as much- I sometimes wish there was more than one per week. Maybe it's because I can't listen to either on the radio here.

I'd like to hear podcasts when Greg (or Chappers) fill in. I think that Greg has different material and they should do a podcast for him, I know on Jessica makes them, but they aren't regular, so people can't get to know his style.

Also, 2 weeks without a Scott Mills Podcast is upsetting! :P

I think the length of Scott's Podcast is great. Sometimes when i get the podcasts through and they're only 21 mins long, then i kinda feel a bit disappointed. I Love the long podcasts and if it was a weekly podcast, it would have to be about 2 hours long!

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
