Has anyone heard fearne and reggies show... the feature about new music generator. Is there a website out there that actually does something like this. You feed into it thinsg that you like and get recommendations - artists that are similar.

I notice the new iTunes does this. It's really annoying. 'Look what we've recommended for you in the iTunes store'. It's a big bar at the side of your library.

That gadget guy on jo whileys show was going on about one of the new ipods. You click on the genious button and it finds something which supposedly sounds similar.

Yeah it's the same in iTunes. I'm pretty sure my Sony Walkman MP3 used to do something similar years ago but it kept collecting dust and the software pants.

I got Jack Penate and Air Traffic. Neither of which I've listened to before but I've been recommended Air Traffic before.

Last.fm does this.

it's free to join and you download a small program which runs in the background, when you play music it logs it and creates loads of stats about your music habit and recommends similar bands that you may like, it's real cool

I just typed in a few bands and its already recommending things to me. Though it did recommend Tiesto because its music is similar to DJ Tiesto (thats computers for you)

Nice one, is there a way of scrobbling what you're listening to on the radio?

I should really google it, but thats more effort then asking :-P

I don't think so, as it would just count as the radio show for example "The Scott Mills show" because the radio is continuous

What gets me is that the NMG song chosen 9/10 times seems to appear on the next weeks playlist.
