My radio day

Lot of 'ideal radio schedules' on these forums, but how does your radio day look?

I usually start with Greg James, move on to Vernon Kay, then a little bit of Rickie Melvin and Charlie, listen to Scott Mills and then back to Vick and Jordan.

Weekends it's Sam and Danni, Ed Gamble and Matthew Crosbie on Radio X, Matt and Mollie then Dance Anthems or Life Hacks.

Mine is Greg and then Vernon at 1030, then maybe stick around for Vine if the topics interest me if not i wack on a podcast. Then Mills 2-4 then over to Vick and Jordan until 5.45 switch over to Coxy on Radio 2 then Jo Whiley to end the day.

Weekends Sam&Danni, Katie, Matt&Mollie, switch to 5Live for the footy(if not on then Dance Anthems) Love Nat on Sunday and Vick and Katie doing the Chart 6-7

Greg James in the morning (best thing on the radio), then I usually do other things and don't listen to the radio that much. If I'm in the car I try to listen to Scott Mills on Radio 2 in the afternoons. Sometimes I try to catch Clara's and Jack's shows in the evening. On the weekends it's Radio 1 all the way - it's brilliant, especially Matt & Mollie.

Radio 1 wise I'll always try to catch at least some of the following if I can:

-Greg's show

-Vick & Jordan

-Future Pop

-Katie Thistleton

-Matt & Mollie & Party Anthems

-Danny Howard

When it comes to other stations, I give Scott a listen on Radio 2 and throw Capital Dance on quite a bit and might sometimes give Absolute or 5 Live a listen.

I would say though quite a lot of my listening outside Radio 1 these days is often podcasts whether that be The News Agents, Tailenders or something else.

Usually jumping between Radio 1 and 2 if I've only got fm. Switch to 2 when something I don't like is on Radio 1, vice versa when they start saying how great the 80s are on Radio 2 and play Jimmy Nail or sommat. In my car I have dab. So kisstory, Radio X and Absolute. Plus WCR, a local station where I am in wolves. Usually make a good effort for Scott when he's on.

on the grid.

Radio 1 during the day Monday to Friday. Radio 3 or Classic FM or Jazz Mix on Spotify in the evenings (studying). If by myself on a Friday I'll pop on Michelle Visage.

Weekend is spotty but Radio 1 for chores except for Elaine Page on Sunday.  If studying then the aforementioned.

The Radio Times, plus trial-and-error dial-twiddling over the years! ?

Obviously not everything gets my undivided attention, according to whether I'm at work, out & about etc. But aim for an overall sense of quality and variety...

I think those radio player/ tune-in apps are missing out on a tool where you can create your own radio calendar if I had set radio routine that is station hoping it would be good to create your own schedule so it switches seamlessly without going into different apps or opening app and jumping to different service. I’m very on-demand but most of the time its a mix of Times Radio and 6 Music. But use a lot of podcasts, playlists and on-demand listening.

That's an excellent idea. So excellent, that it will probably never happen ...

Guessing some broadcasters would hate it, but consumer-wise it's a great idea.

Yes, like @Old Codger Fan said unlikely to happen and what you said some broadcasters like Global would hate it and Jono think thats the main reason it would never happen. At least on-demand radio experience is vastly improving.

It would be good but there will be some reason, my theory is that Global or Bauer would see it as a way to avoid ads indirectly without paying. But also you would not kept in a captive environment to just leave it on which is what wallpaper radio stations lives on
