I Think That The Arctic Monkeys Are Right. Radio 1 And Their Music Playlist Is Crap. Your Call Should Have Music At Least Two Years Long For Half An Hour.

I Kinda Agree With You There :doubt: Anyway, what does pee me off is Your Call being all about the music, and yet playlisted stuff comes up, or stuff we hear every day on Radio 1 even though it's not on the playlist - Eminem, for example.

I would like to think of Your Call as a week day companion to Vernon's Lie In. That's a great show to listen to on a Sunday, but we're not all up and listening then. It should be about music we've not heard in ages, and Scott should say any requests they get for recent music will be taken on board when compiling the next day of music between 4.00pm and 6.30pm.

Radio 1 is about new music all day, and I think Your Call could round off that day with something else. I imagine more people would tune in for something a bit different than turning off... it's not like they're going to go to local radio where the music is like that all day round.

Isnt the Wonder years about "old" music though?, that may detract from the popularity of the wonder years if "old" songs are played 5 days a week.

Any thoughts?

The Wonder Years is more about getting you ready to go out. I'd say it's more upbeat. Sure, there's an element of it which is similar, but there's plenty of music that could make Your Call which wouldn't make The Wonder Years.

Whilst there's a lot of criticism of the play list, this could be time to be reviewing these sort of features.

you call is better than it used to be. all it used to be was another excuse for radio 1 to try and say how great this or that band is a few years ago. now i have been hearing old tracks from the avalanches and warren g. so it's improved a great deal.
