The guys did a round of Real Or No Real (whoooooo) on the show this week as part of the Don’t Look It Up quiz, do we reckon they should bring the feature back full time, maybe in place of the quiz?  (It’s sounding a bit tired now and I miss RONR).

I don’t think the quiz is sounding tired tbh, I was just thinking the other day how good it’s been having a proper feature at the end of the show again, it was weird when RoNR stopped and the show just kind of, ended. Would still be glad if it made a reappearance

I would like to see "Where ere they" come back as well, it seems the show only has three slots for features, 140, 240 and 310, the first half hour is always and always has been too music heavy for my liking, also I don't see why they have to have a newsbeat at 130, when there is the long one at 1245?

There's always been a 13:30 bulliten. The main newsbeat programme has more in depth reports, some of which are special programmes. The bulliten updates the headlines. It makes up part of their required hours of news. They've already cut back over the years with no 04:30, 05:30 and 17:00 bullitens on weekdays, 16:30 and 17:30 on Saturdays, and looks like the 21:00 (formerly 22:00) is not coming back anytime soon.

I remember Scott bringing back Real or No Real on Radio 2 when he covered for Steve Wright a while back - it was good to hear it again, but it didn't feel the same with the original format and music. I'd love it to be brought back regularly on Radio 1 with the original format and theme music.

Having said that, Don't Look It Up is a really strong feature and it's excellent at the time it's on (towards the end of the show) so it's hard deciding whether to replace Don't Look It Up for Real or No Real. Perhaps an occassional outing of RoNR will have to do.

    • There's been a lot of positive reaction to the Mylo and Rosie news so am interested now to hear what their shows are like. And yep wouldn't be surprised if they stay on beyond July as cover ever so often. And that Friday-Sunday news was hidden in the small print a little. It presumably means we lose Party Anthems all that month as that is what has happened this year with Big Weekend, Glasto for example. I certainly I hope it isn't Party Anthems being quietly axed full stop - it and Future Pop are 2 real hidden gems on Radio 1.
    • I’m pleased for Mylo and Rosie, they were highly thought of in our local area and definitely worthy of that slot
    • I’m thinking the same redding and Leeds etc
    • -Considering how little Jamie has appeared since Vick went off on maternity, it probably would've been more sensible to have Sam & Danni taking over from that point and have him return with Katie. - Mylo and Rosie are apparently very good and one of the more popular local presenters who lost their slot when Hits went fully national. I gather they are very popular in Yorkshire. I can see them definitely see them popping up again beyond this stint. -Life Hacks cover is yet another good opportunity for some new voices (I know Yinka has popped up in the past). I have enjoyed Pete Allison covering though. I'm assuming most of August's Friday to Sunday 1-4pm will be made up of festival coverage.
    • - Jamie Laing will take a break from Going Home from 28th July. Sam and Danni will cover. - Greg James will host his show until 11am from 21st July (Monday to Thursday only). - Mylo and Rosie, who previously hosted Hits Radio Breakfast in West Yorkshire, will host Friday EB in July. - Charley Marlowe of TikTok fame will host Friday EB in August. - Tskenya Frazer will host Life Hacks with Lauren Layfield in July, whilst Yinka Bikinni will host with Lauren in August. - Jamie Laing and Katie Thistleton will return to Going Home in September.
    • @eddemundo Thank you 👏🏼 👏🏼 That took some listening on Sounds to get that
