What did you think Scott would look like?

We talked about this on the main topic, but the listeners in Majorca thought he'd be fat or thinner, and gave off the impression he'd look like Foxy from Capital Radio. What did you think Scott would look like before the pictures?

Yeah the first photos I saw were from One Night With Laura and I thought, "he's alright" but since then I've seen more photos and decided he is good looking for a DJ. A lot better than Dr Fox off Capital Radio - doesn't even compare. Dr Fox is a minger. It seems to me though that in the past few months Scott has put more effort into his appearence and he looks good for it.

I don't know what I thought he'd look like, but he sounded good looking, if that makes sense in any way.

A Scottish accent can be nice, as can an Irish one sometimes, but I am a Southerner and I like Southern accents. I think this thread is in danger of turning into another scary Scott/DT loving thread though, so I'll leave it now.

I can't remember really, I think I had always checked out Radio 1 Online since I started listening so can't say it came as much of a shock, surprise or whatever.

All I know is that there was no fake tan or white teeth pictures then, and he looked more like Wes than anything.

When I was on student radio, I got chatting to this girl and she used to listen to my show. I'll never forget her words when she found out it was me (my 15 seconds of fame!) as she said...

"I thought you'd be better looking because you sound fit on the radio"...

That about sums it all up for me, some people have no taste, she obviously needed glasses or something..

Actually My mate who used to do another show on Student radio and now works for the BBC looks exactly like his voice (you know what I mean) he's the cheesiest guy I know, stereotypical DJ.

Sometimes here, sometimes not.

I always thought he would be slightly bigger, due to being sat down all day, not a great reason but the only one I could think of.

He only does three hours a day, I don't think they tie him down for the whole day!

I can just imagine, just sitting there stuffing himself with doughnuts all day and he might do.

Heh I like that representation of Scott you've got there DC.

    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
