Mills Going To Capital Radio !!

Recommended Posts

With Johnny Vaughan being unceremoniously kicked out o town (too OLD for Capital apparently), there are strong rumours that Mills is being lined up for the slot (via @celebritain).

Vaughan has refused to work out his notice, Mills is already posting on Twitter that he is very excited about next week. However, he is not explaining why.......

What do you think? See him working for Capital at all? Or just a bunch of over-excited rumours? Is Mills just excited about his hols, getting some surgery done, or is there a hot new Project in the works?

Watch this space........ !!

Hmm and there's also the rumour that Yawn is being lined up to try and save Daybreak seeing as it's failing badly with Chills and Bleakly...

I'm afraid if there were truth to this, I won't be following Scott to Crapital. I wouldn't even follow Moyles there, even if it meant we got rid of Twiggy n f***in Emma in the morning...

I will not be following Scott either, but it is annoying, as, if there is any truth in this, there really isn't a suitable person (other than Coxy) for the 4 - 7 pm slot, and I doubt she will get it somehow. So that kinda leaves me to move to local radio for the time of day.

Let's face it though, Mills and Moyles have both gotta be running out of time now.

Yup, and the supreme irony of it all is.... boom, boom.... the research for my other topic (r1 failing to reach the target audience) was done by...... CAPITAL !! :hahaha:

mega lolz all round. I love the competitiveness and the rivalry. Totally cut-throat, really is... the world of media.

I've often wondered if R1 is why Mills has nightmares !! You quite often see him tweeting about disturbed dreams. I've often wondered if it is concern about his future .... he is what 37 now.... so if Vaughan got kicked out at 45, then really he should get more time out of a new career with Capital than he probably would with R1?!

Peeps on cm.net are also noticing Mills is losing his hair. I noticed that as well on TV - at the back.

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
