Just seen that there seems to be hardly any Radio 1 coverage of Glastonbury bar a 2 hour Thursday show and Monday highlights now Jo Whiley's gone? Is this because its on 6 Music or management think it shouldnt be covered - either way live Glastonbury shows would be more interesting than having a bland Radio 1 weekend.

I get the impression for some reason that they consider Glastonbury too old for Radio 1- or am I imagining it? If I wasn't going to be there I'd be quite annoyed they're not making more of it. Anyone know if the show will be live on Thursday- would love to go and watch Jo?

I'm wondering if maybe they want to do more web streaming again, or clog up red button channels with live and repeated video, cut down on the audio-only stuffs.

How is Glastonbury too old for Radio 1? It's the biggest music festival in the world. It would be crazy if there wasn't any Radio 1 coverage.

BBC usually does a lot of duplication of coverage, same things on Radio and TV (been happening today with Wimbledon on BBC1 and 5Live, same match etc), don't see why it would be any different with Glasto unless they were looking to make cutbacks (even though they could make far more effective cuts).

Maybe it's to try and boost 6 Music figures on the Glasto coverage?
