I’ve enjoyed both Katie and Jamie and Katie and Lauren this week, I think they need to start having Katie as the ‘main’ host of drive instead of Vick as she seems to be able to keep Jamie under control a lot more.
Vick and Jordan often went on tangents but managed to keep things under control, Vick and Jamie together seem to not be as good at that.

What a nightmare link at 11.15am this morning. Spent 30 seconds waffling about the name of The Last Dinner Party as if he’d never heard it before, then started mentioning Capital and the license fee, and how it’s been used to pay for him to be there, and was then cut off by the start of the next song.

The playlist has definitely got a bit narrower this year, it feels like. Artists like Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Drake and  Doja Cat seem to be played in every show, even when they’re not on the playlist. Other artists who get a few plays a week, such as Niall Horan, always seem to have the same song played, in his case, Heaven. Whenever they dive into Calvin Harris’ backlog it always seems to be Slide and Promises pulled out, even though they’re two of his least upbeat songs. Most songs they play seem to have been from the 2020s, instead of throwing in a few older hits like Capital does, which is something I think they could do.

Capital Radio's breakfast presenters have been really chuffed with the lovely comments you've left about the programme, and they want to give something back. No doubt the mordern society we live in would want Greg ripped off the air. I'm sure what he said wasn't meant in any bad way. He's not a bad bloke. He's apologised, move on. 
We may as well take risks and live in the moment now. For right or wrong. Because in another decade, you could probably end up being arrested for watching repeats of 8 out of 10 cats on Dave.

Undoutedly the show annoys the bigots who don't like them for what they are.
However, I simply don't like the show as it feels poor quality and out of sync with the sound of the station.

Mine was Grimmy, on his drivetime show in 2020.
I’d passively listened for about a year prior to this, mainly Greg on breakfast and Scott on the chart, and then sometimes Dev and Alice on the weekend as well, but this was my first use of the BBC Sounds app:

At the end of that week, I heard Jordan for the first time when he covered Grimmy. I’d heard him a few times before and thought he was alright but really enjoyed that, so started listening to him as well just before he went on I’m a Celeb.

It’s not necessarily the fact that Jamie is posh. It’s that the show seems to be really keen to play on it. Within 10 minutes of their first show they were playing voice notes from his Celeb mates. Compare that to Vick and Jordan’s first week in September 2021; their first links were about Jordan’s awkward encounter with his plumber and Vick slapping a roast chicken. 
 
And then on Monday this week, Jamie is sulking (exaggerated sulking admittedly) about something, this ultimately being that another of his celeb mates has cancelled his appearance on their show, and they’re literally reading out texts such as ‘I’m sure this is going to be relatable to the entire population.’

Hard to believe that all the new shows from September 2021 are now pretty much over, aside from RMC on the live lounge show, and even then, they seemed to change things up after 18 months or so. It feels like yesterday since 6th September 2021 when all those new shows began!

She will of course be promoted in April when she replaces Jack in his evening slot (as he moves to future artists).

Alex hasn’t been on the radio since he did Fridays in November 2021, but he was very good and surprised he hasn’t been used since.

I suspect so, given that he’s going to a direct rival.
I don’t understand the problem with announcing that Jordan was leaving second. Apart from Scott, when they didn’t have a replacement lined up, they’ve always structured their press releases to have the announcement of the new presenter first, as seen by Adele, Grimmy and Annie. Yes, the rest of the reception has been extremely cold, but I don’t blame them given that he’s going to a direct rival at the peak of his career.

Also sounds like it’s a decision that’s only been made in the last couple of days.

Quite ironic he will end up on capital after years of digs at commercial radio…!

Suspect that this list has been something they’ve had for a long time even if it’s not been published on the website. Don’t see the problem with adding songs like Murder on the DanceFloor given it’s at number 2 in the chart, and I suspect that it will largely be used for songs that have recently departed the A List for most of the time.
