Good news for Freeview and general Sky users -

Channel 4 has confirmed that premium movie service FilmFour will become a free-to-air service from July.

The move will coincide with the channel's launch on Freeview and will takes its reach from 300,000 homes - subscribers currently pay £7 a month for the service - to a potential 18 million.

Unlike E4, which is largely FTA but remains a pay TV channel on satellite, FilmFour will be available to all Sky and Freesat viewers.

Don't really find it appealing but might give it a go when it goes free.

This is good news, saves me £7 a month. I don't think it's ever been worth it, I hardly ever watch it. But im one of these people who would rather have something there and not need it than need it and not have it.

They do really good indie films and good films in general on film four, and occasionally do free weekend when they put some really crap films on, so if the films stay as good as they did when it was a pay service then it should be good

Used to show alot of good B list movies but they have been swinging more toward mainstream recently.

Film four is ok. If it is not coming to Telewest for free then it might be another push to get a freeview box for my room. And if i get one i will record Scott onto here from it instead of FM.
