"worth every penny".

Found this article in the Sun. Basically Piers Morgan says he deserves double pay as he is worth it and money should be taken from other stars.

<roottag> BRITAIN'S Got Talent judge Piers Morgan wants telly stars to be paid more and is looking to get his salary doubled next year.

And he fully backed funnyman Paul O'Grady who refused a pay cut earlier this year, slamming Channel 4 for risking losing someone of Paul's talent for the sake of a few hundred thousand pounds.

Piers even said that he wouldn't mind if producers take the money from other stars to pay him because he thinks he's "worth every penny".

He said: "I've got no problem if they take it away from somebody else who feels guilty about this type of thing, because I have absolutely no guilt issues about my salary whatsoever.

"I think it's time the talent fall back and go, 'hang on a second, without us, you don't have networks'."

Piers is in a £2million golden handcuffs deal with ITV that will end in May.

But he has his sights set on a massive cheque when it runs out, admitting he's after £10million.

The cheeky star confessed he got his know-how for bargaining from Weakest Link host Anne Robinson.

He explained: "She said, always at least double the money you are really earning whenever you are asked about it in interviews, because then everyone thinks you are incredibly expensive and starts to pay you accordingly."

But cocky Piers admitted he's not yet in the same strand as Jonathan Ross or Alan Carr.

He sees himself more as a serious David Frost type, he added.

Singing legend Sir Cliff Richard is the latest celeb to be quizzed by Piers in his upcoming ITV1 show, When Piers Met..., which airs on Saturday.

And Piers once again stuck up for BGT runner-up Susan Boyle who famously had a crush on him.

He said: "She had a rough time, but she's not some weirdo. Most people in show business are a bit eccentric if you think about it. It doesn't mean they're not great talent."

Wonder if she's getting paid £10million too, eh Piers?

    • The BBC commissioning brief mentions it is a 'mid morning show' for Radio 1 Dance https://www.bbc.co.uk/commissioning/radio/documents/comm_brief_r1_dance_morning_show.pdf
    • Nothing to apologise about, I was just intrigued on how DS and UM react
    • I would be pretty confident that if they keep avoiding using James Cusack on that slot over the next few weeks, then it will probably be him that gets the show permanently!
    • That’s two names who probably won’t be doing that slot permanently then.
    • Moyles spent most of the 52hr sgow calling him that lol
    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
    • Maia Beth is doing Friday Early Breakfast on 7th & 14th June.
    • Joel Mitchell is in for Nat on Sunday 9th June.
    • Ore Olukoga is on 13.00-16.00 on Friday 31st May and Friday 7th June.  Nikita Kanda is doing Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.
    • Very pleased for producer Amy - it's no coincidence many of the best shows in recent years have had her working on them. You can tell her & Helena are a great production duo and that the whole Matt & Mollie team are a really close-knit unit in general. Some lovely speeches by both Matt & Mollie too to end the show on Sunday.
    • Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots. A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1. Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
    • James Cusack is in for Jack on Friday 14th June, doing the chart while Jack is at Download.
    • I remember hearing Amy first on Scotts show and she was great on that, the daft quiz questions always made me smile. It's really nice to see the hard work has paid off for them all.
