But Sara Cox does ask people to text in for next week. The producers probably will check requests out and do call backs during the week. They're not lost. But I can understand your sentiment but they don't gain anything from it.

Exactly me_54m, it's charged at a national rate-so R1 can't get any money from it.

Texting R1 is just the standard text charge (9-11p), Radio 1 do not gain any money from it. The phone networks take the money as they do when we text others normally.

The cost to run the text system itself will probably from the licence fee as normal.
