Is this right?:

Normal service resumed. Power back. Prodigy return to the stage. Car alarms going off all over. Portacabin I'm working rattling to peices

Just saw it on 'hughgarrys' Twitter

hmm, could be a number of things that tripped the power. never mind, makes it more exciting!

The bass from the speakers vibrated the MCBs and tripped them! wow, must of been loud. Can't wait to see the video!

According to Jonos twitter:

Not only was there a huge problem at the Prodigy resulting in ten minutes of darkness my phone died too! Eek! #bigweekend

I hope they talk about it on BBC Three later. I love these kind of problems!

I thought that was going out live on BBC Three which would have been hilarious. One song cut out and it all went dark. I assumed they either threw a strop or went off stage for a break. Every gig trick a crowd could pull went on (slow clapping, chants of Prodigy, etc) and eventually an announcement came on saying there was technical problems - to the sound of boos. Eventually power was resumed and the gig continued. A good ten minutes of nothing which led to some people leaving.

Nope, it didn't go out live on BBC Three. They've not done any real live stuff on TV or radio this year.

It will go out at 10.45 - 11.45

The 4th floor said it was going out live but for the love of god, I couldn't find where. They linked us to the bigweekend site and that was it. Shame it was not live. Recorded it all tho...

Scott said someone turned a kettle on, on the INMWT stage lol But doubt it was really that!

My grandad did that once when the circus came to stay next to his house. He turned the toilet light on and fused the whole of the circus. There's a worlds apart story for you...

Reports of Matt Finchams involvement in this debacle still remain unconfirmed Jono? :P

Afraid so. He said to me he was at the side of the stage though. The case shall stay open.

    • There's been a lot of positive reaction to the Mylo and Rosie news so am interested now to hear what their shows are like. And yep wouldn't be surprised if they stay on beyond July as cover ever so often. And that Friday-Sunday news was hidden in the small print a little. It presumably means we lose Party Anthems all that month as that is what has happened this year with Big Weekend, Glasto for example. I certainly I hope it isn't Party Anthems being quietly axed full stop - it and Future Pop are 2 real hidden gems on Radio 1.
    • I’m pleased for Mylo and Rosie, they were highly thought of in our local area and definitely worthy of that slot
    • I’m thinking the same redding and Leeds etc
    • -Considering how little Jamie has appeared since Vick went off on maternity, it probably would've been more sensible to have Sam & Danni taking over from that point and have him return with Katie. - Mylo and Rosie are apparently very good and one of the more popular local presenters who lost their slot when Hits went fully national. I gather they are very popular in Yorkshire. I can see them definitely see them popping up again beyond this stint. -Life Hacks cover is yet another good opportunity for some new voices (I know Yinka has popped up in the past). I have enjoyed Pete Allison covering though. I'm assuming most of August's Friday to Sunday 1-4pm will be made up of festival coverage.
    • - Jamie Laing will take a break from Going Home from 28th July. Sam and Danni will cover. - Greg James will host his show until 11am from 21st July (Monday to Thursday only). - Mylo and Rosie, who previously hosted Hits Radio Breakfast in West Yorkshire, will host Friday EB in July. - Charley Marlowe of TikTok fame will host Friday EB in August. - Tskenya Frazer will host Life Hacks with Lauren Layfield in July, whilst Yinka Bikinni will host with Lauren in August. - Jamie Laing and Katie Thistleton will return to Going Home in September.
