How about we vote on location first, then date etc after that until we have a plan? That way we have a chance to make as many people happy as possible.

I think that sounds like a very good idea. Now we just need some places to vote about. I say Flensburg ;)

Well, if you really are planning it for any time in the next few months then I won't be able to make it as I'm abroad :(

we can have another meeting for when you come back :D

I agree with Grace, let's put it to a vote ;)

London would be good, I guess. It would be good if it involved a trip round to the R1 buildings for those of us who haven't been that close before... just a thought.

 That never occured to me! I could ACTUALLY visit a place Scott has been!

I'm up for London!

Haha, I don't hope Scott reads this, I think he'd be pretty creeped out.

I don't actually care about the place - to me, the UK is the UK, it doesn't matter where exactly it'll be. I'll probably have trouble getting there anyway :P

Nah, he will be flattered

I'm not really fussed about the date but (correct me if I'm wrong) I think more people will be able to make it during the school holidays?

it depends. Those who are at uni probably want to stay at home during their holidays (excluding some people who are from London/living at home). If however by school holidays you mean half term, that wouldn't be a bad plan.

That's probably the only time I could make it. Or maybe a weekend.

Right, so we could do it during christmas hols which is about 4 weeks away. I think London (if we pick it) would be extremely busy (well busier anyway) during the holidays so my vote goes to a weekend

If it's over Christmas then I'm out. I'm working a lot and can't get leave because I'm still in my probation period, plus it's the only time I'll get to see my family for a good few months.

Edit: I've just created this http://www.congregar.com/vote/agpjb25ncmVnYXIwcg0LEgVQb2xscxilhwEM/ if it's any help. :)

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
